Close, best I owned at the same time:

Meridian 861, 20Bit XLR, cannot find the invoice,
I think I shopped used at 6K Euro from a dealer.

5 active entry level studio monitors, 19" pro case HTPC,
wires, sub, around 2K Euro

Panansonic 900 LD Player with MSB RF out for ca. 1K $

Euro is ca. 1,4 Dollars (=21,3K $), but it wasn't that much worth way back...he he !!!

Plus some extra for first room treatments, when this issue started out to get higher awareness...

That's why I say close.......

PS: I edited the CRT price, which was 13K DM, not Euro.

Man, some of you more wealthy guys must have so much fun in your HT's.
Mine was ~5K and it wows me daily, I can only imagine if I would have had another $15K to budget with.

Never be envious of anybody! You don't know what goes on behind closed doors. Sickness, mental illness, delinquent kids, family drug problems, work problems, marital problems, and I'm sure I missed a lot more. Point being money doesn't buy happiness but I'm sure it can buy a good home theater room full of the best equipment. Ok I'll send you $15,000 only if you guarantee it will improve your life. I would love a Bentley coup but I can't afford one so I think I'll go slit my wrists, call 911!
