should i get the calibration? WD73734

circuit city is offering me a deal to get my new WD-73734 calibrated. They said the gentleman who would do the service is ISF certified and part of that fire dog team.

Circuit city said they'd do it for 350 bucks. Other places are much more higher.

Is this service really worth it? And should I let Circuit City do it?

Thanks for your help.

i would like to know this as well. I work at Circuit city also, and this tv is super cheap on an accommodation program. Having CC calibrate it for me tho is a little scary sounding, as i've seen firedog do some good work and bad work.

How does the tv look by the way? I havn't ordered it yet, was thinking maybe i should wait for the new 70" sony xbr to come out at the end of october. Hmmm.

I like the tv, especially the fact that i have a 73" tv that accepts and broadcasts 1080p signal all for under 3K.

The pic is nice as I compared it to the smaller plasmas at C.C. and the pic on the WD73734 competed. Now it wasn't quite as good, but it was close.

Fan noise for some people has been an issue.

By the way I found somone to do the calibration that is ISF certified and will do it cheaper than C.C..

Not sure where you're located, but you should check the calibrators forum. You can probably get one of the recommended pros to calibrate your set for the price CC's firedog team is charging. Personally I wouldn't trust the Firedogs with my tv.

Yeah, I've already given C.C. enough of my money as it is!

And does C.C. eve have calibrators that are ISF certified?
