OK, I'm set on buying a plasma NOT over $1,400 (total). I always thought Panasonic was really good, but people here seem really experienced so I thought I'd come for your kind words of wisdom.
The best choices I found:

I'm a little worried about the "poor" segments at the end of the cnet reviews. Do you guys suggest getting something from a company other than Panny? I want a good plasma to watch movies and play videogames. I want to buy it over this weekend, too. Before I spend the money I saved up somewhere else haha!
I have a couple more questions. About burning the TV in, if that's what it's called, what do I play/watch for a 100 hours to take care of that? What settings? And for how many hours a day can I let it be on?
The other thing is callibration, do I get it after that process? And where would be a good place? Best buy?
I would ask for a good site to buy the TV from too, not sure if that's allowed.
Oh wise AVS dieties, please enlighten me!
