1) Regardless of the movie, BD or SD, the picture does not fill up my tv. I have read where members complain of sd's having this technicality but not bd.
2) Every movie I have played gives me video and audio glitches and 80% of the discs have just stopped playing for no reason.
I have the system connected using a Monster Cable 700 series HDMI. I have not changed any internal settings nor have I done any fw updates. I thought this player auto detected my tv settings and if it doesn't, will changing the oputput to 720P internally help. Furthermore, the only way I can get the movie to fill my screen is by changing the aspect rati on the tv to 4:3 Zoom but then my deaf wife can't read the closed captioning.
Thanks a million,

1) Theatrical movies are shot in two aspect ratios: 2:35 and 1:85. Between one-half and two-thirds are the former, which even on a widescreen TV will give you small bars on the top and bottom of the screen to preserve the original framing of the picture; 1:85 films will fill a widescreen TV fully. It's really not such a bad thing. On old squareish TV's you'll have bars with both types of movies.
2) Many people on this thread, including myself, have reported drop-outs and related glitches of the kind you're getting, but not as frequently. The firmware updgrade may help, but the current version may not remove them altogether. That may take the next version, yet to be offered.
