Well, first of all I don't rent a lot. I have always been lucrative in by buying habits of dvds. I can buy it, watch it, then either keep it or sell it for what I bought it for. ...and because I used to buy SO MANY dvds, I've always had 20-50 dvds that I've never watched sitting on the shelf, so no need to run out and buy something if I don't want to. I wait till they're 3-6 months out, then get them for great prices. Never been one of those "gotta have it on release day for $20" kinda guys.
With that said, we do occasionally rent from the local video store, which is literally a 30 second drive up the road from my house. This is where the wife will rent her "chick flix" (because I refuse to buy them) and some of those crappy movies for our kids (I buy the good ones). So, I wouldn't mind renting a BR from there once in a while BUT,
they don't do that yet.
Now if I wanted to drive 10 minutes accross town to rent a BR from Blockbuster, I could do so. ...but aren't they like $3 for one rental

? I think not. Like I said, I've got plenty to watch right on my shelf. Maybe about once every couple of months I find a wanting to have something right away, IE: Iron Man BR... had to shell out $15 to get that one right away. Indy4 was another one, but I could not bring myself to pay $20 for it... will get it eventually.
I am a huge Pixar fan, so I'll be paying whatever it costs for that one. That's one of the few I gotta have.
SO, to answer your 'kesskeyown', I don't live in the sticks so to speak. They do have Blu-rays round here. I just don't spend $1 worth of gas and another $3 plus tax just to rent one. Renting 3-4 BRs is the same cost as buying one. I'll stick to buying one good movie, instead of renting 3 crappy ones
