It appears I'm not alone in having narrowed the field down to these two displays. I want to be a good citizen and therefore don't want to post this question in the owners forums of either model. What with the price point of these two displays about to converge I could really use some guidance in comparing these two TVs. I'm an HD beginner so all help is appreciated. It would be especially useful to hear from those that have had experience with both, especially if that includes having had a chance to calibrate (i.e. improve upon the in-store PQ) both. But anyone who has been through the research of these two models and have drawn some conclusions would be useful.
I know some of this has been discussed in the various owner forums but these have grown so unwieldy that I can no longer glean the info. The pros and cons of features as well as PQ impressions etc. would be useful.
Your help is greatly appreciated by all of us who have been frying our brains over this.
What little I have so far is this:
PQ: Generally better on the Sharp, mostly by virtue of the better CR. This assumes, of course, that you get one with sans banding.
Sound: Better, maybe alot, on the Vizio.
Connectivity: More HDMI ports on the Viz.
PIP: Yes on the Viz, no on the Sharp.
SD PQ: Don't know but am very interested which one is better.
Remote/Menus: Better on the Sharp, I think.
Overscan: None on either???
