Does the USB port work on the Ultimate TV?

All the usb ports are good for is some sort of internet function (does anyone even still use that on the utv?).

Other than that, they do work to power certain usb devices, like fans.

You transfer files by recording them with any sort of vcr, dvd-recorder, computer capture device. No usb file system or communications.

Don't know about the internet function. "For Future Expansion" is all I ever heard/read about it.

USB Power and basic USB Keyboard functions is my understanding of it's usefulness today.

Now I rememeber, it's the video in that I was thinking about. That can be used with the webtv function to upload images.

I never used it but I thought the video input was on the front of the unit for the upload.
Various USB_.dll files were updated, I do not know if that opened the function of the usb ports or not. I would guess not.

The Audio/Video Inputs are on both the front (covered on the Sony) AND back (next to the outputs) of the UTV.

When you say that "various USB_.dll files" were updated... are you referring to UTV OS 3.8 or something along those lines?

Not sure anything will change with "updated" drivers but if someone happens to see their UTV's USB functionality change I'm sure we'd all love to hear about it.

Yes the 3.8 has modified usbh.dll, usbhid.dll and USBPRN.dll, as well as other files but those start with usb.

Hmmm, maybe I should try plugging in a drive....
