Are they good to do business with?

I want a wall mount and at this point, I guess they are the only place I am going to be able to find one.

They have low prices, quality is the bare minimum needed and no more-cannot compare with Chief or Peerless. They are reliable regarding their order handling and shipping.

I have major concerns with them. From my recent experience in the past week, I would not recommend these people.

First, weeks ago when I first contacted them with some questions regarding my PJ and if their mount was compatible, I waited almost a week for a reply.

Second, I ordered a long extension for their NPL series mount which is advertise as having cable management (i.e. the cables go in the middle of the tube pipe), but it turns out that the variable mount I ordered is just a long NPT pipe with no holes for the cables to go in at the top and a small variable piece at the bottom. I am now taking this to CC company to get a refund. They have not responded even after 4 emails. BEWARE!!!!!

Do you have a website you can refer me to?

Experiences like this is why I hate ordering anything online. I like to go into a retail store so I can see who I'm buying from and touch the product I'm paying for. I wouldn't care if I had to pay twenty or thirty bucks more for that experience. It's funny that a lot of places around here sell projectors and mounts but not one of them is a wall mount.

If you want quality order a Peerless or Chief mount:

http://www.peerlessindustries.com/dy...categoryId/193

Mount Direct Products are cheap--it will work but you will know it is cheaply made when you see it--

http://www.mountdirect.com/

Thanks, will give Peerless a call next week. I don't see a compatibility chart on their page stating whether the unit is compatible with the HD70.

My Mount Direct ceiling mount is a quality piece of equipment giving me the ability to easily mount and adjust my PJ. I had no problems ordering it and received it in a couple days. As with all equipment, you should check to see if the item meets ALL your requirements before ordering. Some people don't need to hide their cabling in the extension pipe.

Email is not a reliable way to do business and I never trust it for anything with any company. Mount Direct has a phone number and I would recommend a phone call to validate your requirements if you need to.

Of course, they are not a forum sponsor so I would expect to see the equipment recommended that is provided by the sponsors.

I would recommend Mount Direct to others as I have here and would buy from them again.

The problem with verifying anything over the phone is that it isn't in writing. Mount Direct is not a professional company. From the looks of it, it seems to be a one guy operation or couple of guys. If it is indeed a bigger operation, it is certainly not efficient. The mounts finish is rough. At least for me, ordering with them was a mistake. You do not find out what a company is made of until you have issues with their product.

I echo this post. I have a Mount Direct mount and couldn't be happier with the price I payed and the "quality" of the mount. I don't care how it looks as it's above my projector and I can't see it anyway. After getting the mount installed we had my projector lined up withing 5 minutes.

Well, I guess experiences are going to vary as with anything else.

Personally, I wish I didn't have to deal with a phone or a website to order anything. That's just the kind of person I am. I like having the item right in front of me so I can examine what I'm buying.

Well, found the Peerless mount at Amazon.com. A place that the wife and I have ordered from before so I guess I'm good to go there.

I'm not sure how you have determined the business size or how you can make an evaluation from one item. Even the "professional" companies say like Sony and Panasonic have sent out defective items to customers and contacting them by phone can be a real effort. What did you get in writing from the mount company you went with? I'm lost on that comment since the world operates of phone support for everything from toys to skyscrapers. The customer support phone number is where you have to start to give the company an opportunity to make right any product which seems to be defective.

Short of that call, your opinion is noted but with reservations. Not everyone is interested in buying a Ferrari ceiling mount for their Camry PJ. I guess if you want to expect top of the line perfection you should be ready to pay top dollar for it. Glad you found a solution that works for you.

I would be interested in anyone else who had a problem with this company as I would rather not recommend someone just because I had a good experience and received a good product.

In the PJ market, that can be difficult to acheive.

I'm starting to see that. The good thing was that when I went to actually buy the projector, they had one one display that I played around with for a half hour. Had they not had one on display, I wouldn't have bought from there and went somewhere else that did.

Is this the package you bought?

http://www.amazon.com/Peerless-PRS-P...8765226&sr=8-3

I am wondering when you get it if you could tell me how far the lens of your pj is from the wall when it is mounted.

Thanks,

bdbaba

Wow, my link doesn't work either. I wonder if it's this site that's blocking them. It looks like you got the right one though.

Strange on the links. I look forward to hearing your thoughts when you get this puppy set up.

Thanks,

I have an email thread with the company. It is the same person responding to a generic sales@mountdirect.com email. They mentioned they would send out a piece with the hole in it so that it works but cannot get any confirmation or tracking number about it. Sent emails with return receipt which they did view, but are refusing to send out the part it would appear. Again, I cannot recommend this company to anyone based on this experience. Like I stated, once you do not have any issues with the product or options you bought for it, then you will praise the company. If you do need them to cut into their margins to make it right with the customer, then you know how good a company really is.
