Is it just me, or does baseball on those two networks look softer than others? ESPECIALLY FOX. I'm not an HD expert, but I can bet they're broadcast is NOT 1080 because of how "soft" the picture looks. I've had HD for about...2 years, so certain things stick out to you about a 1080 picture, like the detail in the skin and the glistening of sweat, stuff like that. Razor sharpness. Hard to explain, but I can tell immediately if its a 1080 broadcast. Thats why baseball on FOX looks so terrible
! There's a softness to the picture, especially from that center field camera, which looks terrible. ESPN is a little better than FOX, but you can tell that it isn't 1080 either. When they do a close-up on the announcers Joe Morgan and the other guy, it looks good. But as soon as they go to the action on the FIELD, that softness that you dont get from 1080 is there. Comcast Sportsnet does the Phillies home games in 1080, and you can tell because there's no softness anywhere! No biggie, just something I noticed after watching home games on Comcast, and then going to FOX and ESPN.
