Awesome new Tekken 6 screens!

From the official Tekken website:

These are some very high-poly models. Just check out the definition on Jin's arms!

More high-poly models...and some fat guy.

There are some very cool effects going on when certain combos are performed.

But sadly, the water looks rather crappy, especially for a game with such tiny environments.

And there are plenty more screens from where those came from.

I'm very glad to see the game looking so nice. The last few batches of screens were horrible jagfests, but it always seemed a problem with the compression of the images, rather than the game itself (which was surprising, since they were all from the official Tekken website, and I couldn't help but wonder why the devs would put up the screens in such a horrible manner, making themselves look bad).

I'm in agreement that those look good except for the water. I remember when Dark Cloud came out on the PS2 and how floored I was at how awesome the water looked. Shame that it hasn't really gotten better than that. I'll save my judgement until I see it in motion, though. I expect to see pants moving, hair whipping in the wind and that kind of stuff.

Haha, I felt the exact same way when I first got Dark Cloud. I should probably finish that game one of these days. I've had it for like 6 years now, haha.

Sweet...though I am also a little unimpressed with the water (is that water on the floor in the second shot?) Can't wait to see some video footage.

That looks pretty cool. However when I see that fat guy in picture 2 doing something unrealistic for a portly fellow, I am left to question the integrity of the games physics.

Everything looks very clean, which is good, but the lighting engine looks like it could use a little more depth.

Funny--I was thinking the same thing.

That fat guy is some character who thinks he can't beat people bigger than him, so he's determined to become the biggest person ever and use his new fat power to kick ass. Like some Tekken characters - he's there for comic relief or to be politically correct to fat people : though I think they might have trouble mashing the PS3 pads buttons with their large fingers and have to settle for an arcade stick, in which case they might mistake the large colorful buttons for candy and eat them. Fat people - they are universally hilarious..

I hope we can see some HD screenshots soon. 680x384 leaves a lot to be desired.

- That or one of the girls.

Although Namco does hit their girls with the ugly stick from time to time.

They certainly do that... I wish they stole the designer of DOA and threw him to work with the Tekken girls....

Oh god, please no bouncing boobies.

Hey now - they've toned it down since the first one where you could use a gameshark to really make some granny boobies... way back on the Playstation...

Have you not seen the Soul Caliber 4 screens? It's like Namco took DoA and pushed it to the max!

+1

How lame would it be if every fighting game had bouncing booby wars. Keep it in your volleyball games you undersexed developers.

can't wait for this game. I've been a fan since Tekken 1, I hope this one is as good or better than Tekken 3 and 5(for me the best Tekken games)

Tekken 3 was great and Tekken Tag was pretty good as well. Tekken 4's decision to make Jin into some Karate user (forgetting the Mishima style) was pretty lame. At least he's back now as Devil Jin.
