I love the NAD T775HD. In fact, I had more problems with my HK AVR 745 that I had for four years than this one. I even bought the HK AVR 7550HD and had more problems with it than the T775HD. Here are my findings:
1) HDMI switching is pretty good. No problems for me.
2) Perform Audyssey calibration very carefully. Make sure you have the nickel plated mic and not the gold. They sent me gold and NAD sent me the nickel to replace it. The gold was for the old T775 not the HD ones. Keep the ambient noise very low and position the microphone pretty carefully and do odyssey calibration - multiple locations based on the recommendations from Audyssey (there is a document floating around on this site).
3) After you save the settings, make sure you don't have any unusual results. Such as wrong crossovers, etc. Also, make sure the sub is not set to -12dB. That is the lowest it can go and that means it might be getting saturated. Lower the gain on the sub and redo audyssey until you get it right. I got it to -9 dB and it sounds a lot better and not excessive.
4) After you save the settings, make save it to a preset. Make sure you save further changes you make to any settings back into that preset otherwise you will lose it. Attach that preset to all sources you want configured that way.
For example, I have several presets. One for movies, one for music, one for multi channel analog, etc. For multi channel analog, I actually have speaker levels different (especially the sub). For music, I have audyssey turned off, for movies, I have it turned on. Also, for movies, I have Audyssey NAD curve and Dynamic EQ turned on, dynamic volume turned off. I can get it loud - not worried about that.
Overall, I am very happy with the sound. I am sure my next upgrade (if at all) will be speakers. I currently have Klipsch RF5, RC7, RS35.
