T777 vs. T787 - i dont get it. what's the difference besides 10lbs shipping weight, some additional watts and $1,000 ??

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/CompareTo.aspx?compareItems=01|745T787&compareItems=01|745T777&g=10420

seems like getting the 777 is the clear choice here.

any opinions?

MultEQ XT32 coming to NAD sometime next year - maybe.

from NAD customer support:

2012-09-22 13:29 MultEQ XT32
why don't any of the NAD receiver products have MultEQ XT32? there is a big difference between MultEQ XT and MultEQ XT32 - specifically subwoofer tuning.

i want to buy a NAD AVR, but i don't think i can because it doesn't have MultEQ XT32.

any advice?

Thank you for contacting the NAD Electronics Support Centre.

At this time, our plan is to introduce this next year but there is no timeline at this moment.

Keep watching the NAD website for future announcements.

Hi forum,

I own the 785 hd with the MDC`s AM 200, VM 200.

I also have the problem with less volume. At 0 db with my Nubert nuLine with 350 W I can relax
and snooze ;-) an I don`t remember i`m deaf ,)

Is there anyone who could send me the newest firmeware (now it`s 1.28)

Thanks

BR

Hallo Axel,

Hello all,

I have owned the NAD T775 for a couple years now and so far I really like it. There is 1 minor issue that I have seen so far and I thought I saw it mentioned here in this forum but I searched and can not find it. The front panel on the NAD goes out and the only way to get it back on is to cycle the power switch on the back of the AVR. Is there a simple fix for this, other then cycling the power switch? The fw has never been updated since I've owned it.

thanks,
Mike

I have owned the 775hD for over a year and really love it. I keep up with the firmware upgrades as a habit an I am on the latest 1.36 now and have had no problems.

Thank for your help, Axel.

Will see, if the new firmware solve my problems.

Check out the Audyssey thread on the AVSforum. I recommend reading the FAQ. If you follow the intructions there, I suspect your brightness issues will disappear. http://www.avsforum.com/t/795421/official-audyssey-thread-faq-in-post-1

Which curve are you using? I am using the NAD one and it seems pretty good. I also turned DynamicEQ on.

I was reading a post on the Audyssey Tech Talk that the Ironman Bluray disc utilizes an encode flag to automatically engage the decoding AVR's dynamic range compression resulting in a very compressed soundtrack. To overcome this a person must go into the AVR setup and turn it off once the movie starts.

This peaked my curiosity and I decided to see if my NAD T785HD had such a DRC setting. I could find no such animal other then reference to DRC when listening to DAB radio stations. Does the T785 have such a setting for movies and if it does how would I access it.?

Never mind, broke out the manual and found out how to do it.

If you have v1.29 please PM me.

I believe there is a new firmware available for the NAD Txx5 products. Version 1.38 and new DSP version 1.05b. Not sure what improvements there are.
Anyone have the 1.38 FW?
Very interesting to know what it kind of improvements included.
I currently run FW 1.34 on my 785 with AM200/VM200

Have just sent my T785 w AM200/VM200 in for service.
The display showed "Check DSP Board" so I needed to have the AM200 checked, fixed or replaced.
In addition I decided to replace the VM200 with a VM150+VM150x.
It is the way to go. I did the same with my T785.
Can anyone give me a general idea of the cost to replace the VM200 module with the VM150/VM150x modules?
I should know, but I will get a good deal. (I know it's best to have a price upfront, but I am a very good customer at this NAD dealer :-) )
Currently I am loaning a T777 from them with a AM200z/Vm150+150x card installed.
The T777 sounds very good. A nice and good sounding AVR.

I think the vm150 was $550 and the 150x was $200.

I asked at HIFI klubben, but they didn't know.

I asked Bob Moran and he said it was just a different suffix. I'm guessing capabilites are the same
but maybe some of the chips were discontinued and had to replaced with newer versions. Just speculation on my part.

Hi,

I plan to buy a T787 receiver shortly (before the end of the year probably) and I have the same concern about NAD not supporting MultEQ XT32. If NAD adds MultEQ XT32 support next year does that mean that they will release a dedicated MDC module so we could upgrade any receiver?

thanks
