The Fifth Element being released in Australia with better artwork

The Fifth Element is being released in Australia on the 24th of October and has much better artwork. I am annoyed I have purchased the USA version after Paidgeek said that The Fifth Element was not going to be released on Blu-ray in Australia of Europe as he thought it was distributed by Gaumont.

Also the USA really does have horribly cheap plastic covers for their Blu-ray discs. Australia has stronger and thicker covers on all our Blu-ray cases the same as Europe. They take up more space in my cabinet but at least you can read the spine.

It is probably safe to assume the Australian version is region free the same as the USA version.

The Australian version can be purchased at ezydvd http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/795770 They are a very reliable distribution site and ship internationally.

I'll bet Ian Holm prefers the US artwork.

Are they using the PS3 cases in Australia?

BTW, the Aussie coverart isn't better.

No the Australian cases have the same length and height as the USA cases but they are twice as thick and stronger. I believe they are the same as the UK cases.

Come on the USA artwork is horrible.

I personally prefer the artwork to be the movie poster they used when in the theater. But that's all subjective to where you live, and what is considered the most popular movie poster (most movies have mulitple posters).

This is the one I remember the most:
Fifth Element poster designs
(there's 4 other variations below this picture)

Wow, I really don't like the font; I much prefer the original. The cityscape's fine, I guess, but… I wouldn't call it "better."

-1 for the font change… the rest is inconsequential.

That's the one I remember as well, but I'm not too crazy about it either. I think if they'd use the picture of Milla Jovovich from the original poster, and put that on the artwork from the US Blu-Ray, that would get my vote.

But I'm still not that concerned… (why am I even posting this? Meh, I'm bored…)

Yes our Australian OFLC classifications since 2005 are rather large and annoying. Although our rating system is far better than the USA system with its PG-13/R debacle resulting in many unrated versions of movies as the gap between PG-13 and R is too great.

F**k the artwork. It's priced at AUD $42 which is almost twice the price of U.S version. Ridiculous.

You mean yes they are using the PS3 sized cases for Aussie BDs. I own 3 Aussie BDs and each of them come in cases the exact same size as the PS3 games come in only they are blue instead of clear.

I kinda liked the US one. It feels more human.

The US cover feels more epic, might I add.

It is $35 once you convert the currency which is not bad compared to the $29 it is in the USA. Certainly not double. Also this is the recommended retail price, it is cheaper in the shops. Not so ridiculous is it lgans316.

That's probably because of the five humans that take up most of the cover.
