White Pearl vs. Black Pearl vs. RS-1

Given the options of picking up either the Sony VPL-VW50 now vs. JVC RS-1 now vs. waiting for the Sony VPL-VW60 which would you do?

Do any of the 3 projectors have HDMI 1.3 inputs? Does HDMI 1.3 really matter for video quality?

I would opt for either the VW60 or RS1. The VW60 is an enhanced, cleaned up VW50 with HDMI 1.3 input. The RS1 has better native contrast than either of the Sony's, and has HDMI 1.2. I would prefer to have HDMI 1.3 on any projector I have, simply because it supports more features and some source devices and/or repeaters may omit functions if they see HDMI 1.2 or lower in the device chain, but as far as image quality goes I dont think it will make any difference in the forseeable future.

I'm going to wait 2 or 3 months, then purchase a Black Pearl (Turquoize).

I'd just wait and see what both Sony and JVC will come up with in the upcoming weeks. There's still no complete review of Sony VW60, no precise features, price and no review of JVC DLA-HD100, there are recent rumors of a JVC RS2 fixing all RS1 problems... I'd just wait and see, today it's not the wiser day for a vpr purchase in this price range

Now I'm thinking I will opt for an RS2. Guess everything is in flux until after this weekend at the very least.
