a2000 vs e3000

I have a 50" a2000 now. I have an opportunity to "upgrade" to the e3000 for $300. My number one beef with the a2000 is ghosting in video games. In Donkey Konga from the Game cube, when "notes" scroll across the screen, they are heavily blurred and the sound lags unless you have it in "game mode" which helps a little but then the picture is blurred.

Is the e3000 any better in this regard? Is this blurring on moving objects in 480i or 480p a known issue?

Any other thoughts on these 2 sets?

Black level?
Contrast?
color accuracy?

Thanks!

The A2000 is going to give you a better picture quality than the E3000 and has a faster response time for fast-motion and games.

The problem you appear to be having is with standard-def video games. You probably need to play with your adjustments a bit, although I would suspect the "ghosting" is more likely to be a cable problem or simply a lousy signal output by the game cube. The $300 is much better spent upgrading the game cube, you're never going to get great output from a standard def source when you blow it up to large sizes.

I notice the same blurring on the WII using a component cable and 480P.

So what is the exact response time for the A2000 vs. the E3000? Sorry had to ask. So I guess you finally decided to go see the E3000 since you have stated the A3000 has better picture quality than it.

My personal experience is that the E3000 was sharper than the A2020 and A2000 that were sitting next to it. Now that was a 1080i source and neither TV was fully calibrated. Personally I would take the E3000 over the A2000 or A2020 based on my observations. However, I am not sure the upgrade is worth several hundred dollars. Is your A2000 working other than the ghosting issue?

480i is 480i. Nothing you do is going to improve that significantly.
