I just found out (we only recently started service), after having problems hooking up my new TIVO, that my area (23434) is not all digital. When does Charter expect that to be complete?

Also, I'd like to say that I feel that any channels that we have to pay extra for should be in HD.

I don't have all of the specifics yet, but we are planning to significantly expand HD choices soon. We will provide more detailed communication to you when our plans are finalized. Notifications typically occur 30 days prior to the launch, and are printed on your actual bill statement. We plan to have at least 100 HD channels in ALL markets by the end of 2012.

If there's anything else that we can help with, please advise!

Thanks,
Abby

Sean,
You won't get notifications for sure. I've gotten 26 new HD channels and no bill inserts, notifications, or messages. Just keep an eye out for other people's post and your own guide.

Why should I not be surprised, you guys never have an answer for anything.

Hi sheshechic,

Were we able to get your new TiVo activated? If not, please send us a PM with the following:

Name
Address
Phone Number
CableCARD serial#
Host ID
Data ID
Tuning Adapter (if applicable)

It looks like your area is preparing for Switched Digital Video. I will be happy to check with local to see if we have a timeline for completion and thanks for your feedback on our HD programming.

Thanks,
Abby

Well, I've tried everything else... I live in Ill., just across the border freom Wisc. Our charter cable is out of wisc. and for years the channel set was the same. A couple years back charter changed the lineup for us south of the border, dropping FSN wisconsin in favor of comcast sports channel. This means I no longer get the 120+ brewer games a year I had grown used to. The reason I've been given is the cubs are more popular with their il. customers, but the comcast channel they've given us hardly ever has them on anyways. To add more frustration to this brewer games are blacked out when they are on MLB so I can't even see them then. It seems very callous of charter to not offer FSN-if I lived 2 miles to the north I'd still have it! All I ever get from you guys is "We have no plans to add this channel at the present time". Completely ignoring the fact I'm not asking you to add a channel-I'm asking for you to restore one you took away, one that you still offer to other customers in the same area. From April to October it would easily be the most watched channel at my household, either live or dvr'd, and it frankly sucks that you can remove a channel I'm paying for without adding any kind of option or recourse for the customer. All I get at the local office is "we get a lot of complaints about that." So, if you really care about your customers, why don't you change it?

Lonwolf, believe it of not, this really isn't in Charter's hands. With an IL address, you are in CSN-Chicago territory as defined by MLB. You were gettin g FSN-Wisc when your wern't in their territory and Charter fixed it. Youre only option is MLB Extra innings if ofered by Charter there. Or, switching to Directv. There are probably lots of CUbs, Sox, Bulls & Blackhawks fans there thrilled that CSN-Chicago in now on, just as there are ticked off Brewers & Bucks fans.

Honestly, I think they answered your question pretty satisfactorily. You asked for an update and they gave you an update.

Then why won't anyone at charter say that? All I've ever been told is that they did a survey and found more viewers wanted comcast. When I asked what kind of survey-phone , mail, etc. I was told they couldn't tell me. I've phoned them, talked at their local office, e-mailed them...noone has ever gave that reason, which you would assume they would, since it takes them off the hook. And they do always promise they might add it back in the future, which if your explaination is right would seem to be impossible. I can accept what you're saying, All I ever wanted was some sort of reasonable explaination, which yours is. So, are you saying noone at charter cared enough to give me the truth?

Quick question. We had a free preview of Epix this past weekend but I was unable to view the Epix channels on my cable-card enabled Tivo. Why is that? Doesn't seem fair!

Good Morning,

I can confirm what was stated regarding the regional restrictions and channel offerings. We apologize for the misinformation you've received in the past.

Thanks,

Dylan

Good Morning,

Sorry to hear you were unable to view the free preview on your cable card We aren't aware of any issue that would have caused it not to work on a cable card. Was it working on any tv's in your home? It's likely that a hit would have resolved it.

Thanks,

Dylan

What about 92506? AFAIK, there's already SDV in this area. Charter has the best internet around but your core business as a CATV provider is a miserable failure. Or is being an ISP now your core business?

You guys were promissing "more HD channels" in 2008 when we bailed and went with U-Verse. Here it is, four years on, and there's still only one steam of the premium channel multicasts in HD and some of the "extra" paid channels are still in SD. What gives?

Good Morning,

We do plan on offering 100 HD channels in *all* markets by the end of this year, including your area

I'm just having a hard time believing this but when Charter said they were coming out with 100Mbs internet they followed through with it and didn't raise the price (until a year later).

We're coming into May now. Do you have any info on price increases and the timing of actual delivery of this service?

Unfortunately, we do not have any additional details at this time but are working hard to get the channels added. We will be able to share more info as we receive it.

I think that most people in the local office haven't a clue about anything other than how much you owe or anything else written down on a brochure they hand out. And that pretty much goes for any local office. The office here where I live is just as bad. But,remember this, Charter primary business is now being an ISP. their TV service is an afterthought, and it shows. Their goal is to have 100 HD channels in every market by year end. those are goals that both Directv and Dish set for themselves years ago. And their competing cable companies pretty much all have esily surpassed 100 HD channels in most markets. I have Charter for and ISP because they offer the faster service than DSL, my only other choice here. I only have their analog TV channels as a backup for the 2 times or so a year I lose D*. And, I'll lose that once they convert this system to all digita. Knowing how Charter works, that will probably around 2015.

Just an FYI for you, I you ever do go to D*, get the sports pack and you can see all FSN-Wisconsin programming other than live games. Then, get Extra innings and you'll get all Brewers games in HD. BTW, I'm not a Brewers fan, but went to Miller quite often when I lived in Il and I do love watching games there.

Thank you for your response Abby. I got the first one up and running fine now but I just received my second TIVO and no one at Charter call center seems to even know how to pair the card. I am going to PM the info now. I hope that one of you can help. (this is maddening)

I'm still having a problem. I PM'd you about it, the lower channels aren't coming in. I power cycled both the adapter and the Tivo and no go. Had a signal sent and nothing. I went through setup again on the Tivo too.

thanks for the helpful reply. I've never looked into extra innings-got a natural inclination not to pay for something that used to be "free." But I'm desperate. The thing is will I get the brewers games if I subscribe? Went to charters website and could not find a description of what extra innings actually offers. Really no info at all other than its out of market games only. According to MLB, the broadcasts are subject to blackout, and I'm classified as being in the Brewers home territory. I guess thats whats so frustrating about the whole situation. National services are blacked out and the local ones are not made available-what can I do? Charter: Can you confirm or not whether I can receive all Brewer broadcasts LIVE by subscribing to extra innings? And why the heck doesn't your website offer better details on premium channels?
Good evening,

Sadly we cannot confirm what content will be displayed since we only offer the ability to have the Extra Innings package. Whatever is played on those channels comes from the networks. We give to you what they give to us. I wish I could give you a better answer but we do not have control over content that is played on PPVs, and the MLB reserves the blackout rights as well.

In regards to your complaint about the premium channles what information are you looking for, and where is it that you are wanting to have more information provided?

Thanks,

Jeremy
