Thank you for the info and the link. That's great news. Sorry I can't answer your question as I have paperless billing.

Pretty Jealous here over in cental Minnesota (56201) Would love to see G4, BBC America, and all the extra movie channels.

Hopefully Minnesota isn't too far behind with the next HD update. I think I'd be willing to pay for the movie channels if we could get more than 1 HD channel per premium (ie just the main HBO, Max, Starz, and Showtime)

Any information on 70461? The lineup here is lousy. Only 41 HD channels. No TBS in HD. No NHL Network in HD. No BBC Network in HD. No NBA TV at all. No MLB Network at all. Don't understand the no MLB Network thing. Charter carries it in other markets but not here. Right across Lake Ponchartrain in New Orleans, Cox Cable has all of these channels. Any idea on when we can expect some upgrades in our lineup?

The only option listed on that page is Redding. Charter serves more areas than that in California.

Yep for Tennessee it only shows Mountain City which I have never heard of. Kind of lame Charter.

I went to thelink that UMatter2Charter gave and didn't even see Louisiana as an option. What does that mean? Does it mean that the 100 HD channels being in all markets this year not include markets in Louisiana? am I missing something?

That's really good news - I was starting to wonder if maybe Charter and Tribune couldn't reach a deal on HD carriage. The folks at the Tribune showed how inept they were when they made a deal with DirecTV then tried to back out of it, so it seemed at least possible that for once, Charter wasn't the limiting factor.

It's encouraging to know that Charter has made a deal to carry WGN America HD *somewhere*, but it seems so typical of Charter that they would carry it in the Pacific Northwest before the Midwest, where the channel has its greatest following. There are thousands and thousands of Charter subscribing Cubs and Sox fans just dying to watch our teams lose in glorious high definition!

Similarly ... Tennis Channel but no Fox Soccer or NHL Network in HD? I don't really watch either channel, but just look at all the folks who have been on here requesting those channels. C'mon, man!

I know I shouldn't bitch because compared to a lot of other Charter systems, the HD lineup here in Madison is fairly extensive. But when you see some of the decisions they make as far as channel carriage, you just have to shake your head.

Any changes/adds coming for Michigan 49006?
With there seeming to be quite a few markets that are looking to see an increase in channels in June 2012, I figured I'd ask if there is update for zip code 56201.

I live in zip code 37663, which is one county over from Mountain City TN, which is listed as getting a major HD upgrade next month, according to the link. Will it stretch over the line to me?

Good Morning,

We aren't showing any changes set for your zip currently, however, we have every intent of bringing all markets up to at least 100 HD Channels by the end of the year. Mailers and bill inserts will only go out to video subscribers.

Thanks,

Dylan

Good Morning,

It's nice to see all of the responses. For all channel addition information please see http://www.charter.com/futuretv

If your city is not currently listed that indicates that there are no new channels planned in the *near* future, however, we recommend checking back frequently as we will continue to update the site as changes are rolled out as we work towards our goal of 100 channels in all areas by the end of the year.

Thanks,

Dylan

June 19th isn't the "near" future? Seems pretty darn near to me. Anyways while you are checking everyone else's how about Paris/Camden TN market.

Looking at the information above and the channel line-up for Redding (Only CA area listed on the link) I am seeing that Charter may still be shy on some HD offerings compared to Uverse but they may also have some HD offerings that Uverse doesn't have. Hmm.. Decisions..

Smaller towns/cities/municipalities may not be listed which is why I checked. There are no lineup changes listed for your market yet.

Sorry but Camden is larger than Mountain City. Anyways I guess I'll start checking out what kind of deals DirecTv and Dish are offering. If I don't see any new information by the end of July I'll have to seriously consider switching TV providers. And I'm saying that as a over 12 year Charter customer.

Good afternoon,

I heard back from my escalation, and your channel additions are expected to happen on June 25th.

I also talked with the marketing director about the GDP subscription, and she is working on getting it sent to you, but she wanted to let you know she is not sure as to when you will start receiving them.

If you have any other questions in the future please let us know. Is there anything else I can do for you at this time?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Good afternoon,

You are most welcome! If you are on paperless billing your online statement will have all inserts that we include with a paper bill as part of the .pdf file. Either way you know your new lineup, but in the future we recommend checking out the bill for updates on services, and the like.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week, and if you have any other questions feel free to reach out!

Thanks,

Jeremy

The Madison lineup is very good, but the best lineup before the St. Louis upgrade was Reno, and Reno overtakes St. Louis.

They have 84 networks and 19 premiums (not counting locals and RSN's). And there's still some more seen in other areas they can add in Reno.

I just got done chatting with cs to schedule an installation next month. I'll be using a cable card tuner and want to do self installation. FCC regs require that I be allowed to do this without charge as of Nov. 1, 2011. I'm being told that is not the case and I will have to pay for a truck roll because a tech needs to come out and "un-trap" the cable.

WHAT GIVES!?!?!? Since when am I responsible for work on the other side of the point of demarcation, ie, the wall on the side of my house where the cable comes in?

http://www.fcc.gov/guides/cablecard-know-your-rights: "By November 1, 2011, all cable operators must allow self-installation of CableCARDs."

In your case, Charter's records indicate that there is a trap installed in your service drop, most likely at the tap. In this case, a tech will have to come out as this can be done only by authorized personnel, for safety reasons.

The relevant FCC regulations do not cover initial connection, modifcation of connection, or related work that needs to be done at the tap.

Understood, but that is not my equipment so why am I having to pay to do "maintenence" on it?

Try sending a private message to Umatter2Charter; PMs there are answered by dedicated Charter employees who can answer your questions.

Include your account info in the PM, along with your questions/concerns, etc., so they can provide you with accurate info and answers.

Good evening,

If this is a new installation, a technician will need to be dispatched to remove the trap and to verify that the signal is correct at the location. You will still be able to perform the installation of your cable cards yourself.

If I'm paying for that I'll let the tech install the CableCard.
