Have a hard time understanding why the dish company's have over 100 HD channels while Charter only offers around 40... half of which i could care less about like HGTVD, FOODD, GOLFD, PLDHD, and TWCHD.

Thanks for you time posting on this thread. It very useful for Charter to have a rep getting the information out.

We have no pending changes. We will look to add additional HD content again in 2010 as this is our #1 programming priority.

New channels on the Central Coast CA. Just got a letter today and they will be adding USA, FOOD, HGTV, SCIENCE, FX and BRAVO in HD on Nov 3rd. They are moving Disney XD and GSN to digital to free up space. George what happen, you told me via e-mail back in July that MLB, syfy and ngeo were going to be added.

besides the SA8300HDC/MOXI 312 what other HD-DVR boxes is Charter slinging? Mfr/Model # please................my friend's HD-DVR is made by Motorola, but like no other Moto STB that i've seen(it has many blemishes/scratches, so i'm assuming it has been out there awhile).
I would bet on getting a Motorola Box if you dont request MOXI, but try to stay away from the older Motorola Models. I went through 2 Charter DVR due to failure but eventually landed a Silver Motorola HDDVR thats been good to go so far.
I got a Motorola DCX 3400 a few weeks ago.

I was watching some football over the weekend on my HD DVR and was pleasantly surprised to see we had some HD channels added here in zip code 75087 (Rockwall, TX). They are:

745 Speed HD
746 SyFy HD
748 Versus HD
751 Golf Channel HD
752 ION (HD ?)
760 CNN HD
762 Bravo HD
798 FX HD

I am only interested in Versus, CNN, and FX. I think my significant other will be very happy with the addition of Bravo HD. I watched about ten minutes of two movies on FX HD and I have to say it looks fantastic. All in all, pretty happy with the additions.

Now, if we could get Travel Channel HD, and maybe ESPNU HD ...

UMatter2Charter, could you let me know for 38242 when we are going to get more hd channels? It is also one channel on hd tier and i think it is home shopping and i do not think it is 1080i and should be taken off. It takes to long to run across it and detect and then pbs hd is on the other side of that ch and then it has to detect 1080i again.

I hope we get more hd channels. I see where some have mentioned cnn hd and i do hope for that.

I set my computer's analog tuner card to record the F1 qualifying on Speed this morning, and found out later when I tried to watch it that Speed is now gone from the analog stations here in Carson City, NV. (89706). the channel line up says Speed is now ditigal only, but also says it's still in the expanded basic lineup. I completely rescanned on my TV with a QAM tuner, which I noticed has significantly more digital channels than the last time I scanned, but I could not find Speed.

I don't suppose anyone knows where Speed is, and if it is now encrypted or in the clear?

My scan did reveal Comedy Central HD and TBSHD are unencrypted, oddly enough, along with the other usual broadcast and CSPAN channels, and I'm assuming Center Ice is on a free preview since I'm seeing all of the CI channels.

I saw the Reno/Sparks/Washoe channel announcement, but it's clear that Carson City doesn't match that at all, since that shows Speed on Channel 30, still available on analog.

I suppose what would be the ultimate, would be a list of the QAM channels that have uncrypted streams, SD or HD, in Carson City.

Our new channel additions will primarily occur in March/April 2010 across the TN market. I don't have exact channels yet but should have a list about 90 days out. Do you know the channel number of the home shopping channel?

There are no immediate plans to offer multi-room DVR but with the Arris' purchase of Digeo that may be changing soon.

UMatter2Charter,

Are there any additions planned for new HD channels in the 92509 area (Inland Empire, CA)? The area covers Riverside, San Bernadino counties.

Also, does Charter lease cable cards? Ceton is coming out with a new multi-tuner early next year that I want to use with my HTPC.

Thanks,

Jeff

First we're told Oct 2009 which is a YEAR since you last added channels( Oct 23, 2008 to be exact ) Now March/April. How is to say they don't get delayed again. DirecTv is looking liek a real good option right now. Maybe by 2011 Charter will finally have the HD channels Dish and DirecTv have had since 2007.

Its' QVC not home shopping it's on 708 and it's annoying. When you flip through the channels is causes them to lag when you pass it because you have to go from HD to SD back to HD. It's stupid. QVC has a HD feed so tell them to put that on there or get the hell off the HD tier.

HeyUMatter2Charter I just read where NBA TV has signed up with Time Warner, Dish, and Cablevision - I think that leaves Charter as the only major carrier without this channel ? Isn't Paul Allen an NBA owner ? Anything happening on adding NBA TV ?

Yes there is. The marketing team is still in the early stages of planning but there will be additional channels added before the end of the year.

Is there any update on this original post a month ago, or is it still in the planning stages?

When I asked my question I didn't care if I got it answered right away. If it was something important I would have emailed him directly. I think you need to learn to be more patient.

In The Begining of the week Charter added DisneyHD. Anyone else been given this channel? Now I Know this is a HD Forum, but eversince this channel was added, my Internet Speed has trippled from 10meg to almost 30meg, without me asking for a higher tier speed, which is only listed at 20meg I believe. Did Charter ante up the internet speed in my area (54880) at no additional cost to me, or did someone push the wrong button allowing me to achieve these speeds without their knowledge.

Where is my SpikeHD, It was said no plans to add more HD until after the new year yet im given another channel i could do without for now.
