I agree but many old ladies will complain when that they can't get cable on their 20 year old TV without a box.

Verizon just announced 300/150 service coming soon but the price is a mystery.

Cable and FiOS are apples and oranges. How many people actually live in an area where there is competition between these 2 anyways? In my area the man competition is at&t which means no actual competition.

Only Nevada and Louisiana has fewer areas listed. Something holding you back in west Tenn, Charter?

Massachusetts doesn't even have one area listed yet.

Good Morning,

It is nothing specific. As you can imagine this is quite a large undertaking. We are doing our best to get the additions made. Please continue to check the FutureTV site for updates. All updates available will be posted to that site.

Thanks,

Dylan

I was just looking at the list of the new HD line up and saw, "All programming may not be available to CableCARD customers" in the fine print. Is this basically VOD? Are other channels missing to CableCARD customers?

Good Afternoon,

That is correct. VOD service is not available to Cable Cards. There are also newer devices that are digital only that can only tune to digital channels.

Thanks,

Dylan

What does that mean? What devices? Isn't HD digital only so these devices would be able to tune it?

The way I understand it, the only thing CableCARD users don't get is VOD. Is there something else that's not available?

I apologize. That means that they are unable to tune analog stations. They are digital *only* meaning digital and/or hd programming.

Thanks,

Dylan

Thanks, So VOD is the only thing not available to CableCARD users?

Correct. Unless your device is unable to tune analog channels. Please refer to your manufacturer on the capabilities of your specific device.

Thanks,

I have a Hauppauge 2250 Dual analog/digital QAM tuner too. Not really interested in leaping back into the analog world anyhow. AFAIC, you could delete all of the analog stuff and make room for more HD or faster internet.

I currently have 2 cable card devices and there are a handful of channels that on occasion (about 10% of the time) will only output in Spanish. I have double checked to make sure that my tv isn't set for SAP. (which neither of them are)

When the channel is having that issue I will go to my DVR and there is a setting on my DVR to choose the audio settings and it gives me two options: English and English. But regardless on which one I choose it gives me Spanish. I have checked with other channels and shows that have SAP available and I can switch it back and forth without issues

This seems to happen sporadically but it seems to happen every afternoon on FX HD when two and a half men are on. It also seems to happen on Max HD occasionally.

Talking to my DVR provider it seems that I get this issue when the non-English audio stream gets sent first to the DVR from Charter. They said in order to fix this Charter needs "must send an English audio stream with an English label in their PID so it is detected properly."

I have talked to another person on the Moxi HD DVR forum and they have had this issue with both of their cable card devices. (Each device is different)

Thanks,

Dylan

Has there been any update on this issue.

Is this still happening? Would you be able to PM me details of the other experiencing it? The headend has been monitoring but have not been able to recreate the issue.

Thanks,

Hi tahoejoe,

I'm truly sorry, but the information above does not appear to be correct for your area. Your headend is located in Reno, and I am showing that charter.com/futuretv will provide you with an accurate lineup. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Abby

As I stated in my original post last month, my area (89410) isn't even listed on charter.com/futuretv. Should I assume we have been completely forgotten and Charter doesn't even know we exist?

They said you headend in in Reno and that's listed so use that.
It doesn't apply to my area. Reno and Fallon received HD additions that we didn't. The HD add list they previously provided apparently pertains to Reno. Again, I don't think Charter corporate doesn't even know we exist.

Good Afternoon,

I can assure you we haven't forgotten about any of our markets. The upgrades are planned to be completed by the end of 2012 so there is still a considerable amount of time left on the launch calendar. Please continue to check back to the site for any updates.

Thanks,

Dylan

If we are on the same headend as Reno , why would you do Reno and Fallon and not us?

A CSR on chat just told me that PaqueTV is only available with a STB. Isn't this a violation of the FCC Rules on Cable CARDs?
Good evening,

Paque TV is a package that we offer that includes a STB. However, I am going to reach out to our marketing team to see if there is a way to use it with only a cable card. I know the description read that a STB has to be on the packge, but I will get some answers for you.

Thanks, and I will be in touch.

Jeremy
