SD NHL Network is better then none. I know in the past they!ve shown some college hockey and now with the lockout it sounds like they'll show some AHL games. Eitherway according to Umatter no NHL Network for me anytime soon.

You could always get the NHL streaming package. of coursed you'd be blacked out of Wild games living in Minnesota. AHL: has a streaming package too but unless they changed it's even more expensive than the NHL package for whatever reason.

I've decided not to hold my breathe waiting for Charter to add WatchESPN. I'm getting a Slingbox and now I'll be able to watch any channel I subscribe to on my iPad -- including the ESPN channels -- wherever I happen to be!
Meanwhile, Georgia's game this weekend is on CSS, which we don't get in HD. Any chance Charter will be able to figure out a way to carry the game in HD this Saturday night???

Sorry TBarclay, it does not look like we'll be getting CSS HD in time for Saturday's game. I have tracked your request though. Is there anything else that I can answer?

Thanks,
Abby

Is anyone else having issues with the NFL Redzone channel? The channel isn't coming in for me. I've never had issues with it before.

No problem for me in Georgia.

Yeah, it came on a 1:30 for me. I hope this isn't a new trend for Charter.

Can I formally request that you add ION TV (preferably in HD) in the Duluth, MN 55812 area. I never watched this channel before now, but a new WWE show is being shown on this channel. I get this channel over the air when I'm at my parents house in the twin cities area. How expensive could it be? Please add this channel along with CBSSN HD, NHL Network HD, NBA TV HD, IFC HD and ESPN 3D. WatchESPN access would also be nice. Until all those are added I am counting down the days until I move back to a Comcast area.

Thanks,
Dan

After this Summer's big HD upgrade, is that going to be it for Smyrna, GA for the foreseeable future? I would really like to have ESPNews HD, DIY HD, CBS Sports HD, and Cooking HD. That would really give me every channel I would want (along with GPB Knowledge!)

Good evening!

Thank you for your inquiry smile.gif At this time I don't see additional channel launches coming in the near future, but I will definitely be sure to forward your request so that it gets in the correct hands. When information about upcoming changes are made available, you can rest assured we will let our customers know via bill insert, box message, or direct mail.

Have a great night!

Steve

It's October and I have yet to receive any notification or information about my area (23434) upgrading the system to give us more than the 52 HD channels or even to move the analog to digital. I guess that Suffolk, VA is not part of the "100 HD channels by the end of the year" plan. It seems that the best plan for me is to get the city to cut down a few dead trees and trim the live ones so that the line of sight can be improved for my Directv satellite.

Funny how rain and other phenomena affect my cable similar to satellite. Yep, there are areas, between me and the headend, that are still above ground.

Don't feel bad, we are left out of the upgrades here in TX all together so far. All they would have to do here is go all digital, but dont know what all that involves at the headend.

And I really don't get that either. How could Texas possibly be left out?
The whole "100 channels of HD" is so misleading and so wrong.
I agree, they are even advertising now 100 HD channels on the outside of the bill envelope, lol. What really bites is they did this standard pricing, but every area is different with channels and some areas can't even get most of the higher internet packages.

Hi sheshechic and ve52001,

We do not have any upcoming channels additions for VA or TX, but we will definitely send out notifications prior to any launches so that you are informed. If you have any specific requests, please feel free to PM us. We will make sure to pass along any requests to local marketing.

Thanks,
Abby

I remember being told that by the end of the year, everyone will be upgraded. Well I'm getting that feeling that isn't going to happen. I would just like some of the channels they get in areas around me.

Just picked up two PCs to use as DVRs with the idea of replacing my Charter DVRs. Currently using USB tuners (Hauppage 950Q and cheapo mygica) but that limits me to analog and clear QAM channels so I'm thinking of getting the SiliconDust HDHomeRun PRIME. I've heard getting the cable card to work can be quite difficult and result in numerous calls to Charter. Anyone have any experience with this or could recommend other cable card tuners? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Umatter2Charter will get you set up. Don't waste your time with any other line of support at Charter. Abby and Dylan are the best but the others can help too. There's also a whole thread on this in the HTPC subforum on this site.

Sammy2,
Thanks! Are you using the SiliconDust HDHomeRun PRIME? Could have gotten it for about $130 last week but price is back up to about $170 today so I'm probably going to wait for it to come down again.

HELP! The Atlanta Braves are about to play a one-game wild card playoff and TBS HD is out in Smyrna, GA! Is there anything UMatter can do??
OK. It finally came in after sitting on a blank screen for 8 minutes!

Yup. That's what I'm using. Got it for $135 shipped back in May. Been going strong since then.

Any future channel additions planed for 01516? Just wondering if we're getting Hub HD anytime soon since other areas in my state have it already.

I'm having an issue with my dvr. The recordings I made sunday night on Showtime and BBCA both freeze and break up into pixels every few minutes. I've had the issue a couple times in the past and it seems to occur when the dvr is 35-40 % full, Any ideas of what can be causing this other than a defective dvr? Normally I'd probably exchange it at the local office, but I still have quite a few recordings I haven't watched.
In this Sunday's paper there was a Charter flyer which stated that 100 channels of HD are available. Since Charter doesn't offer 100 HD channels in my area (23434) that is false advertising and I will be filing complaints with BBB, my local Franchise Authority and anywhere else possible.

Charter has probably been doing this for some time now, I don't know because I really haven't paid attention. Making these claims on on a general page located on their website is one thing, however local print advertisements should not include those claims, and IMO that claim should change once a person provides their location. What Charter is doing is wrong and I encourage anyone else in the same situation to do the same.

charter taking the day off? I know 5 hours isn't really that long to wait for a response but I was hoping for something................................

Hi lonwolf615,

I'm terribly sorry to hear of the trouble with your DVR. Since forums are generally for peer-to-peer engagement, we will not typically respond unless your comment is addressed directly to us. If you are still needing some help with your DVR, please feel free to send us a PM with your name, address, and the serial# for the DVR. We would be happy to send a new signal or help set-up a tech visit if needed.

You are also welcome to reach us 24/7 at 1-888-438-2427 or e-chat on www.charter.com for immediate assistance.

Any more upgrades for 70461? We would love to get MLB TV and NBA TV, both in HD. Also any chance of BBC America in HD and WGN in HD?

It would be nice to find out when the ellis county system will get the upgraded lineup is seems that Charter has almost finished the upgrades in the 75165, 75167 zip codes and the rest of the area still has the old distribution equipment on the poles almost like charter is taking a snails pace at upgrading that system to 860MHz and what is interesting this upgrade started around 2007 or so and still has not been finished

Umatter2Charter will the upgrades be complete in 75165 or 75167 by the end of Q1 2013 or Q4 2013 if at all?
