I recently swapped two CableCARDs to new TiVos and it was a breeze. Called on the phone and in both cases the cards were back up and running in a few minutes. On one of them the woman I was talking to had to have her supervisor unpair the card because she didn't have privileges, but once that was done she had it paired to the new TiVo in a few minutes. On the other hand I've also recently setup new cards for both my Mom and my Sister and it was a huge PITA, so I would only consider getting a new card as a last resort.
I just went through the same thing. I expected it to take hours, or even days, but I actually got connect to someone in the cable card department right away, and it took less than 5 minutes. I was completely blown away, considering my past experience with Charter.
But here's a tip, no matter what device you actually have (Ceton, Silicon Dust, Samsung, etc.), always tell them you have a Tivo. Saves a lot of time and avoids a lot of confusion on their end.
BTW, I tried their new app but it won't run on my jailbroken iPhone. I'll have to see what it does on my Kindle and iPad. I don't have any Charter boxes to remotely control or program anyway, so it's only the streaming part I'm interested in.
