Hi, I haven't been around the forum in a while and am a little out of the know on what people's opinions on various receivers has been recently. Anyhow, I'm in charge of selecting equipment to make a theatre in my college's Knights of Columbus hall. I am looking for a receiver under $500. Either the Pioneer 1017 or the Onkyo 605 seemed like they might work. The analog to HDMI converting of the 605 would be nice but is not completely necessary. The room we have is quite large (30'x15'x12') so we need a good bit of power though so this might sway the decision although we can't afford separates. We will most likely be purchasing Ascend Acoustics speakers as a side note. All recommendations are greatly appreciated.

If you think the 605 might not be powerful enough, would the 1017 fit, I know Pioneer likes to overqoute their ratings a lot but they also increased it a ton since the 1016. Thanks!
