9.56-9.60 AVS Release Highlights

These releases are all the same but VOD support differs.

Disclaimer: These are highlights from the release notes with issues that are relevant to AVS users.

1. The highest trick mode speed may be faster for some content.
2. Time bar jumps around during trick operations.
3. Captions aren't temporarily disabled if you do a trick operation.
4. Faster swaps to Music Choice channels.
5. Unplayable recordings after reboot.

Note: Please don't ask me if site X is rolling or has rolled out 9.56-9.6. I can't comment on this. I also can't comment on whether or not you should request the update from your cable company.

This is the first release of the Passport Echo EPG by Aptiv running on Pace set tops (TDC779 in this case).

This release is initially only available in areas served by Suddenlink. These fixes have been made since the last beta firmware release.

1. Audio muting issues when surfing to/from HD channels.
2. Parental PIN controls can be reset from the DAC (i.e. network server).
3. High value content works over 1394.
4. Wrong information sometimes recorded.
5. PPV works reliably.

Known bugs:

1. Replay button doesn't always jump back 10 seconds.
2. Closed caption overlapping.
3. Series recordings may not automatically restart after a reboot.

Note: all of the issues described above are relevant only for Passport Echo. They do not occur with the current TV Guide firmware releases.
