They've done a good job of playing with that one....she somehow survived the fire, is still a vampire, but checks out as human.

So is Corraline going to come after Beth again?

Well, in the last episode they did mention that the two of them have the same very rare blood type.....so that must have some significance.

For the time being, just one more episode. After this Friday's show, they will apparently run out of any new production due to the writer's strike.

Hopefully, we can look forward to new episodes and a new season after the strike is settled.

Great reveal last night....well done!

I was thinking that it would be nice if every freshman series were required to have an episode like that which could actually serve as a "series finale", just in case it didn't make it.

I do hope that once this strike is settled, we can get back to business with this series.
This series is finally picking up steam like in last night's episode with excellent history of vampires including how it was behind the French Revolution and the need to chop off heads! Also this new group of very old vampires with special abilities like healing from fire.
It's becoming apparent that the reason Mick is always getting his a** kicked is that he is a relative newbie to the vampire game, compared to most of his adversaries.

I disagree . I found the whole French Revolution crap uncompelling and I still hate Coraline no matter how much more bad Lance is .
I also hated Beth in this episode too , She came off as shallow and hypocritical. This woman was openly flirting with Mick yet she had the nerve getting upset about the possibility Josh was cheating ?
I like Beth/Mick just fine but this last episode was my least favorite

...and it being revealed that Corraline is of part of this ancient family/bloodline of vampires, fully explains how she survived that fire in the first place...

Wow...there is much more depth to this series than one would originally have thought...

Which is one of the reasons I hope it survives!

E! news is reporting 4 more episodes...

"NCIS is scheduled to return Apr. 8, with seven new episodes in the works, and Moonlight will be back on Apr. 11, with four new episodes. Rules of Engagement is slated to return on Apr. 14, with six episodes"

So, any news on whether or not Moonlight is renewed for next season? I hope it gets renewed since it's been doing fairly well (consistantly) in the ratings, and has also won the People's Choice Award - "Favorite New TV Drama" of '08.

Is no news good news? We shall see...

Well, according to this from TV.com, Moonlight isn't on the renewal list.

I hate to break your heart a little, but The People's choice award means nothing. The Class won the People's choice award last year for the best new sitcom, and it got canceled by CBS. It is all about ratings, and Moonlight is mediocre in the ratings. It does okay against very weak Friday competition, but it loses a lot of viewers from its lead in Ghost Whisperer every week. I think it has a 50-50 chance of renewal.

But "The Big Bang Theory" is.

Something is seriously wrong with this country.

That is your opinion. The Big Bang Theory is the best new sitcom in years. Its ratings are so much better than Moonlight it is not even funny. So talk about Moonlight here, and stop criticizing one of the most successful new shows of the season. Would you like to see The Big Bang Theory's rating vs. Moonlight ? I can get them for you if you like.
Here is the ratings comparison for new shows only of Moonlight vs. The Big Bang Theory. Also, bear in mind, The Big Bang Theory is up against Dancing With The Stars, Chuck and Prison Break, and Monday Night Football while Moonlight is up against those equally bad ratings shows like Friday Night Lights and Women's Murder Club. So here goes :

Weekly Ratings Trends-Moonlight

Week Viewers Demo
-----------------------------------------------
09/28/07 8.54 M 2.5
10/05/07 8.04 M 2.2
10/12/07 7.10 M 2.0
10/19/07 7.67 M 2.1
10/26/07 8.39 M 2.4
11/02/07 7.55 M 2.2
11/09/07 7.90 M 2.5
11/16/07 8.16 M 2.7
11/24/07 7.32 M 2.2
12/14/07 7.57 M 2.1
01/11/08 8.32 M 2.3
01/18/08 8.17 M 2.4

Weekly Ratings Trends-The Big Bang Theory

Week Viewers Demo
------------------------------------
09/24/07 9.52 M 3.7
10/01/07 8.50 M 3.3
10/08/07 8.35 M 3.4
10/15/07 7.94 M 3.1
10/22/07 8.81 M 3.5
10/29/07 8.41 M 3.4
11/05/07 9.37 M 3.7
11/12/07 9.32 M 3.8

Almost a laughable comparison especially when you look at the 18-49 demo. That, my friend, is why The Big Bang Theory is renewed and Moonlight is on the bubble, at best. Personally, I think it depends what kind of pilot season CBS has. If they have good pilots to replace it then Moonlight is gone. If they do not I think it will be renewed and tried again next year.

Also, here is Ghost Whisperer ratings, and notice how Moonlight loses over a million viewers from its lead in every single week. That is why the show is on the bubble. You may love it, but it ratings are lackluster, and that is putting it mildly.

Weekly Ratings trend-Ghost Whisperer

Week Viewers Demo
-----------------------------------------------
09/28/07 8.72 M 2.4
10/05/07 8.91 M 2.5
10/12/07 8.90 M 2.5

What's with the attitude? This is a Moonlight thread. The typical viewer of Moonlight is not the typical viewer of Big Bang. I enjoy Moonlight, if it went away I'd be sad for a moment, but then it's only TV and I'd move on. We all have our likes and dislikes, you obviously like, really like, Big Bang. I watched once and found it drivel, jokes were telegraphed, plot was hackneyed and so on. Do I care if it is canceled or continues? No. Do I want it canceled, No - because it really doesn't matter to me.

Why are you trying to compare the two shows? Different demographics. Ratings for one have nothing to do with the other.

Did CBS order more shows or not? I think if it were in eminent danger, CBS wouldn't have bothered to order more episodes. ????

As much as I like the show, the additional 4 episodes could be nothing more than ensuring they have enough to make a decent DVD set of the "complete" series (which I hope not), or a Season 1 (which I do).
I give Moonlight a 50-50 chance of renewal, because CBS probably does not have much in development due to the strike. If CBS had a new show to take its place it would be gone, because it drags down the night. Ghost Whisperer and Numbers both get higher ratings, but with probably not much to replace it I think they may give it another go.

'Ghost' Brings the Most to CBS Friday

'Numb3rs' and 'Moonlight' also helped the Eye network win the ratings game

January 19, 2008

Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 18, 2008.

Despite some new programming by NBC, CBS still owned the ratings title for Friday night thanks to its all-new episodes of their staple shows.

Overall, CBS averaged a 5.9 rating/10 share, while NBC was second with a 4.2/7, just ahead of FOX's 4.0/7. ABC came in fourth with 3.2/5, The CW last with a 2.8/5.

The coveted 18-49 demo also went to CBS, which earned a 2.5 rating. FOX's 1.9 allowed it to slide past NBC's respectable 1.8, while The CW's 1.5 was just ahead of ABC's 1.4.

"Ghost Whisperer" kicked off CBS' primetime sweep with a 6.2/11 and the night's highest demo ratings. NBC was second with a 4.9/8 for "1 vs. 100. FOX's "Bones" repeat took third with a 3.3/6 for the hour, while ABC's repeat of "Grey's Anatomy" and The CW's "WWE Friday Night Smackdown!" tied for last with a 2.7/5 apiece.

At 9 p.m., CBS' "Moonlight" dropped from its lead-in, but still had no trouble winning its hour with a 5.2/9. FOX's repeat of "House" was good for second with a 4.7/8, while NBC was third with the 3.5/6 for "Friday Night Lights." The CW's wrestling pulled ahead slightly with a 3.0/5 for fourth, leaving ABC's "Desperate Housewives" rerun to deliver a 2.5/4 for last.

CBS saw "Numb3rs" bounce back up to a 6.4/11 to win the 10 p.m. hour. ABC's "20/20" finally got the network second place for the hour with a 4.3/8, just ahead of NBC's "Las Vegas," which had a 4.2/7.

CBS Ratings Seesaw: Friday Up, Sunday Down

CBS' ratings fortunes teeter-tottered over the weekend: Its Friday night crime dramas Ghost Whisperer and Moonlight rose to impressive gains, but most of its Sunday slate, led by The Amazing Race, dipped from last week's season highs.

CBS ruling Friday is nothing new. But the network seems to be strengthening its hold as Ghost Whisperer (2.9 preliminary rating among adults 18 to 49, up 16% from last week), Moonlight (2.5, up 14%) and Numb3rs (2.8, up 22%) jumped week-to-week. Moonlight matched its highest rating to date.

Also Friday, the time-period premiere of Fox's Don't Forget the Lyrics (2.2) doubled its Next Great American Band lead-in (1.1) to place second in the 9 p.m. hour and match its Thursday average. If the number holds up next week, it could give Fox some much-needed leverage on Friday nightsparticularly once scripted competitors start going into repeats.

CBS to renew 11 TV shows

"NCIS," "Cold Case," among those renewed

By Kate Aurthur, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

February 15, 2008

On Thursday, as part of a post-strike fiesta in the television world, CBS announced that it would renew 11 series for the 2008-09 season.

There were no surprises: All three "CSI" series, "Criminal Minds," "Cold Case," "Ghost Whisperer," "NCIS," "Numb3rs," "Two and a Half Men," "Without a Trace" and "The Big Bang Theory" will return.

Fans of "The Unit," "Shark," "Rules of Engagement," "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "Jericho," "How I Met Your Mother," "Welcome to the Captain" and "Moonlight" will have to wait to find out the fates of their shows. And "Cane" never received a full-season order, so things look bleak for that series.
