92" at 11 feet - Optoma HD70 or Mitsubishi HD1000/HC1500?

I will be buying one of these projectors soon based on throw distance. It has been confirmed that the HD70 will throw a 92" in as little as 10.6' but it may be as much as 12.7'.

Optoma says the projector should be mounted at the middle of this range - 11.65' - and the 1.2x zoom should be used to "fine tune" the image.

Anyone out there with the Mitsubishi hitting 92" consistently at 11'?

Also, does the Mitsubishi have a tripod mount option like the Optoma?

The projection calculator I used says the HC1000/1500 will do 93" at 11 ft.

I have a dragonfly 92 inch 1.1 gain screen. The hd1000 really blasts a lot of light, and at this size and gain it is really bright, but it gives the image that POP or "plasma like effect" people speak of.

I have little problems in ambient light as I can switch it from low to standard bulb mode and it makes it throw more light. Plus you can make your own calibration settings for ambient light situations.

Due to the smaller screen size you notice very little pixelation if at all; it creates a very smooth image. My friend has a hd72 at 118 inches and pixel structure is very noticable at that size unless you have lots of room for seating distance.

Until 1080p is under 1K I'm not trying to throw 130 inch screens.

Not that I know of.
With the offset the HD1000 has your tripod would have to be 8 plus feet tall.

I am using a B-Tech wall mount speaker bracket as ceiling mount since PJ is less than 6 lbs.

Worked great with my H27. Low profile to boot!

Just want to get 92" diag at around 11' mounting distance - if not, I will have to re-engineer my DIY screen...
