Which 3rd gen Tosh HD DVD is best for me?

I have a LG 42PC1DA plasma and with the specs listing its resolution at only 1024X768 which model should I go.I would really prefer to not spend more than I need to since Im on a budget and the LG's picture quality on SD seems to fair pretty well and the plasma will not be upgraded for at least several years. The models Im looking at are the Toshiba HD-A3,HD-A30,and the HD-A35.

Also, would I even benefit at all from buying a HDDVD player since the resolution isnt up with the newer big boys?

Thanks,
EIS

Why not just find a good deal on an HD-A2? Why 3G?

I liked the option of being to just hit 1 button and whamm-o the movie is on.I have no experience with HD players but Im also hoping that the load time is better as well on 3rd-gen.If you happen to know that there are no signifigant upgrades between 2nd and 3rd gen players let me know as well but,the price is going to be the same on the lower end model as the SALE price is on the lower end 2nd gen player out now and I only have to wait a month for the low end model to come out.I believe i read that the HD-A30 will arrive this month.

I believe I read that the boot-up time is 37 seconds for the A3. I've got an A1 so 37 seconds is quicker than I'm used to.

I just time the boot up of my A20, it too 40 seconds from power to display "NO DISC" and then 5 seconds to eject the disc. It's my understanding that the 3G is suppose to be faster at loading the disc then bootup.

I'd also recomend the HD-A3. Spend the money you save on more HDDVD titles.

What about your audio? Do you need the analog outputs of the premium players or do you already have an hdmi reciever to get true hd sound, if your even worried about it?
A2, A3 = optical out
XA2, A35 = 5.1 analog out and 1080p
they all do true hd through the hdmi if you have the right receiver

Does anyone know what you will get from the optical out of the A-3 and A-30? My understanding is that the A-2 converts some audio to DTS, while the A-20 converts to DD. My receiver does not do DTS, only DD, so I want to make sure I can use the optical out.
