I went into a CC today. HD-DVD had an endcap and Blu-Ray was relegated to the back. My, how things change.

WOW, it looks like Blu-ray is quickly falling apart!

Yeah, go into a Target and you will see a Blu-Ray endcap. And the only reason CC is having an endcap is beacuse To$iba and M$ paid for it.

I was in Target today and there was no end cap for either format

Most prodcut placement is all about money. If one format gave them money this week then they will have a endcap. And to make maters worse it can very from region to region. Grocery stores are the worst, charging shevling space fees. Ever wonder why when you go into one store you can find a certian chip yet not at anther. Well now you know why.

Heh, and you don't think Sony paid Target for that endcap? How else do you think they got Target to advertise such an expensive box of crap with unfinished specs? Goes both way blu-ray fanboy! Now go back to the blu section!

OK. Good info. I know this has some major significance, perhaps the definitive word on who will win this gosh darned war. This revelation of activities at CC will most certainly keep me up all night. Keep surveying those endcaps and let's see if a truly revealing pattern emerges.

Target does not have any blu ray end caps up. Maybe during the holiday season, but not now.

No endcap for my Target yet. I guess $ony's check didn't arrive yet?

The Target-Sony end cap deal begins Oct 1, according to the original press release. These are financial contracts; I wouldn't expect to see them before the last couple of days of September. Since the deal also calls for the removal of HD DVD players from the bricks-and-mortar stores, you're likely to see the shelf space for those disappear sooner.

Considering the only HD DVD player in Target is the xbox addon I doubt that very much!

You do know they have to actually carry a product before it can be removed from the shelf, right?
