Just thought I'd bounce this one off fellow tech geeks in this forum.
CC has this device on sale in the Sunday ad. (Philips AJL308)
It plays DivX and MP4 movies, MP3 and WMA audio, displays JPG photoshows (with optional MP3 "soundtrack"), and is also a clock radio device. (It's actually classified as a clock radio that has those other features added.) I thought as just a JPG photo frame it was pretty cool, but with all the other features, it seemed like a geek must-have item. According to the Philips site, the "windowed" pictures are in clock radio mode. When viewing a movie or photo slideshow, it's a 7" widescreen. Expandable via SD card and can hook up to an external hard drive via USB.
Has anyone seen or purchased one?
I couldn't get a straight answer from CC on whether it would be subject to the 15% restock fee if I wasn't happy with it.
Just a thought: It runs off 9VDC and they provide an AC adapter. (no internal 9V battery, from what I could find on the site) 1280X720 resolution and one of those universal DVD player power sources makes this one heck of a cool (and large) MP3/MP4 player. It's not clear whether a stored MP3 can be chosen for wakeup alarm.
