2nd Gen Tosh HD DVD Firmware 2.5 is up (1080p/24 for A20 and XA2)! - Page 2

Looks like it is not up for either. I just tried a ISO and it sent me in circles. The release notes are up but that seems like it.
I tried selecting the A20 download one time, and it gave me the ISO download dialog box. It looks as though they are automatically redirecting to the sitemap page if the server is already fully allocated -- my guess anyway !
There must be an error in the link or somewhere in that page.
Its not working via ethernet either. I'm getting a message that I'm up to date with 2.2.
Yep, no download via the A2 yet and the ISO link not working correctly. The documentation is there for the A2 it shows it now has the option to select RBG output range, either 16-235 or 0-255.

Allocation has nothing to do with it. That is their custom 404 page, which means the zip file isn't there. You can type in any random filename and you'll get the same page loading.

Might be time to jump on the HD DVD wagon and purchase an XA2.

The updates are on the server, but the links are wrong in the download page.

I won't post the direct download links lest someone blame me for bricking their player.

Here is how to get the right download links - do a "view source" - you can take it from there, it is pretty easy to change - copy and paste in the correct firmware number in the failed download url.

RGB output setting! Nice!!!

I really hope that the 1080p24 update also eliminates the interlacing step and just introduces a direct 3:2 pulldown on the 1080p24 content to output 1080p60.
v2.5 adds enhanced RGB output and 1080p24 for A20/XA2,A2 only gets RGB.

BTW:I can't update via ethernet either.

Did you apply it yet?

I'm downloading now, but I'm not sure if I should use the disc yet. Maybe Tosh isn't ready for it to be out and they edited the address to keep the download from working?
Canadian site still shows 2.2 as well. Hopefully that'll be updated in the next day or so.
For the technically challenged how do you do it? The copy and paste deal?
Thanks for the tip! For the XA2, you need to change the last part of the URL from "2200n.zip" to "2501N.zip". That will bring down the file.

I've got it sitting here on the desktop, ready to burn to CD. But I'm not going to be the first!

Good intentions, but you know, sometimes you should make people's life easier.

For those of you that REALLY REALLY want it and can't wait, I can tell you that you just need to replace in the failed URL link the number before the zip, so instead of read 2200N.zip should read 2501N.zip.

AGAIN, I'm not responsible. so do it at your risk.

Does this upgrade do anything for 720p users? I have an Optoma HD70 and have been looking at getting a A2 or an A20. The A20 seems to have better converting to 720p than the A2 though.

Yes, I have the XA2 and I have successfully downloaded the 2.5 firmware to my hard drive. I haven't yet burned it to CD and put it in the XA2. I'm not going to be the first!

For the record, the name of the file downloaded is exactly:

"HD-XA2-2501N.zip"

Obviously, this file is ONLY for the XA2.
