Who me . To be honest I probably could not tell the difference as I'm sure both sound excellent. The MOFI Texas Flood has received mixed reviews. I have it and its OK not the best sounding SACD in my collection. I almost bought the CSTW JSACD but I think I will grab the MOFI off of Amazon. I had preordered all the SRV MOFI titles from Music Direct but the prices are so much lower on Amazon. I'm really looking forward to In Step as that is one of my favorite SRV albums.

I have about 18 of the SHM SACD discs and in my opinion the only one from my collection close to the dynamic impact/clarity of the MoFi SRV disc is Dire Straits. It's lost on me why anyone would have a negative review of the Mofi CSTW. I guess some may have an aversion to their brand and everybody develops their own "what sounds great." This one meets my "what sounds great." ...$22 from Amazon!

I can't answer this as I've only heard the JSACD, which I bought last year for around $30. I was just curious to know which was the preferred version in terms of SQ, and whether or not it was worth it to add the MoFi for $22. The fact that the MoFi is a hybrid is a nice bonus.

No doubt on the hybrid part...good master for nice rips/flacs.

I just got Eric clapton's slowhand on sacd. I really liked the 5.1 mix and thought the sound quality was pretty good. Even my wife liked it and she rarely ever comments on the sound quality of my sacd's and dvd-a's.

I got the police: the classics the other week on sacd and gave it my first listen tonight, and second listen. I thought it was great. I think they did a great job with the 5.1 mix.

I bought Slowhand recently and I feel its sounds great in 5.1 as well. I always liked 461 Ocean Blvd. better and that is great in 5.1 as well. Then there is always Layla............ will it ever stop.


I have this on a DTS disc but have yet to listen to it straight through. Looking on sa-cd.net this SACD is not reviewed that well. But if you enjoy it then thats all that matters.

People bash this disc but I enjoy it (then again, I'm a Police fan). I would prefer the others to be MCH as well, but I still like them all for the most part.

I do think slowhand sounded better and had a better 5.1 mix then the police sacd, but I didn't think the police sacd was bad or deserves to be bashed. But that's just my opinion.

I just bought 461 ocean blvd on eBay NIP! I hope I like it as much as slowhand. I hate waiting for my sacd's to come in the mail, I'm very impatient

I just got Elton John's captain fantastic on sacd in the mail today but don't have time to listen to it yet. I hope it's good...

I also got the RS500 sacd sampler about a week ago. I bought it because it has sweet emotion by Aerosmith on it. Since I can't afford the crazy prices for toys in the attic.

Sweet Emotion sounds amazing and the bass is so freaking crazy! I hope someday I can find the toys in the attic sacd for a reasonable price. 150 on amazon and eBay is just freaking outrageous!

I think you will like 461 Ocean Blvd. as it is a great album IMO. I saw Clapton when he was doing a tour for this album back in I believe '74, excellent show. I know how you feel as its hard to wait for the SACDs to arrive.

I also got hootie and the blowfish crack rear view on DVD audio. I am enjoying it so far but as I'm listening to it I'm sitting outside cooking on the grill so it's sorta hard to comment on the 5.1 mix at this time.

I've got 461, Slowhand, Layla. I like slowhand and 461 the best of the three.
I'll have to look for Dire Straits, now I know that Amazon shipments get to Ecuador.
I recently bought Diana Krall's 'Look of Love' SACD along with 'Dusty Springfield in Memphis' 180gr vinyl from Amazon.

I think you'll like the Dire Straits...it's my favorite of the SHM lot. A bit warmer than the Brothers in Arms SACD, but still very dynamic. It'll sound great on your new PS Audio HP Amp!

I'm sure I will as all the reviews I have read have been very positive. It would have been nice if the Steely Dan Aja SHM-SACD sounded as good. I look forward to getting the GCHA HP amp as I'm going to go balanced out of the 95 directly to it. I'm hoping to see a nice improvement in SQ over using the HP amp in my Onkyo 886. I think it should be especially going straight from the 95 to the GCHA using Denon AH-D2000 HPs.

I've got the D2000 HPs as well...great HPs. I use a small Firestone Cute Beyond HP amp and it certainly tightens up the bass over the HP out of my Outlaw pre/pro.

I'm running the input to the HP amp from my tape monitor out. I've got the Dedicated 2 ch.rca out redirected to my FL/FR on the Oppo.

Everything sounds great through the Outlaw with the exception of the MCH stuff...the downmix in the Outlaw seams like you're listening in a cave...not sure if signal stays pure analoge that route either. May have to go back and use the FL/FR for MCH and the stereo out for the headphone. I use the HPs alot and that sounds like a good option.

If you are listening to MCH SACDs with your headphones would it be better to set the Oppo to 2ch using the audio feature? This way there would be no downmixing (I think).

I just got Beck sea change on DVD audio

The dvd a sounds amazing. This is most definitely one of the top 5 recordings that I have ever herd. There is something very special about this disc. I love it

I have Sea Change on SACD and it is an incredible sounding MCH disc. I have the CD which has a HDCD layer and that sounds excellent as well. I was fortunate to get the SACD for a very fair price on eBay. I was shocked when the listing closed and that I actually won with the maximum bid I set. I have watched a few listings since then and the prices are quite a bit higher.

Ive noticed that the sacd usually sells for more then the DVD-a. That confuses me ... With the DVD a you get 5 awesome music videos and the on screen menu. Maybe some people don't like DVD a but why pay more for the same music ?

I haven't heard the DVD-A but some feel it sounds different than the SACD. I'd like to hear it for myself but like the SACD it can command a pretty high price. The MoFi sounds excellent as well.
