No new SACD purchases to report but thought I would thank a fellow member for making me think that it is more important to not think about turning a big profit on my SACDs when selling them but selling them at very fair prices (actually lower). I do not want to mention this member by name but his kindness in the past made me really think about this when I was selling some SACDs this week.
I have a good friend that was looking for Avalon and I happened to buy an extra copy as part of a package deal of a bunch of SACDs. So I asked him if he wanted to buy Avalon from me as I knew he wanted a copy. He said now was not the time as some unexpected bills just came up that were more important. He told me to sell it and make some money on it and he would get a copy in the spring. Well I thought about this and how "Fred" (not his real name
) had sold me some SACDs earlier this year at much lower than the going prices. I'm sure "Fred" will know who he is and I hope he doesn't mind his new alias
So I called my friend back and told him that Avalon was his and to pay me whenever he can. I know this awesome SACD is going to a good home of someone that will really enjoy it
. I also know my friend would do the same for me as well without a doubt. I'm not telling this story to promote what I did but to thank "Fred" for showing me it is not always about making a fast buck on my SACDs. But more about passing on something like a great SACD to a friend so they can enjoy it. Of course it "Tis The Season For Giving" as well
