Nice choices: NF is super-clean slick and funky. Great immersion. Fragile is a long-time fave from my all-time band and the first time I heard it in surround it was a completely different experience- the superb 2-d reborn into 3-d sublimity.

Each band member gets a "solo" spot and surround is used to great effect. 5% for nothing is Bruford's short little ditty that cycles quickly around the sphere. Wakeman has his keyboard pyrotechnics coming from all angles in a multi-layered modern interpretation of Brahm's that has the sub humming. Anderson's We Have Heaven surrounds you with vocal melodies and lifts you up into the heights, where you transition into South side of the Sky where the heights become deadly (the song is about freezing to death during a mountain climb).

Old favorites Roundabout and Heart of the Sunrise shine even brighter than before- awesome surround experience!

I know you'll enjoy these babies a lot. I'm just waiting for my Wish you were here sacd any day now... ahh anticipation...

Bet you paid a pretty penny for those.

Catch of the Day:

Emerson Lake & Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery - SACD MCH
Already have the DVD-A which is great.

Journey - Greatest Hits - SACD

The Police - Zenyatta Mondatta - SACD

The Doobie Brothers - The Captain and Me - DVD-A

SA-CD.net is a great site for your SACD library, but does anybody know of another site where you can post your DVD-A library or other disc's as well? (DTS, HDAD, Blu-ray music)

Listening now to Northern Lights: Choral Works by Ola Gjeilo [Hybrid SACD - DSD]. This multichannel recording is excellent in every way. Yes, it has "cathedral" overtones but adds a modern flavor to every track. Absolutely beautiful music, well recorded, and will be a delightful addition to your collection. The you tube videos do not do justice to the full and captivating sound.

Northern Lights

Picked up sealed Dead Can Dance - Into the Labyrinth for $38. Seems to be disappearing quite quickly so wanted to snag a copy while it's still around as this is my favourite DCD album, though the manufacturer still has several of the SACD's available on their own website (4AD) for $22 so I may order a few more throughout the year. They said demand was pretty slim, so OOP titles will not be getting repressed.

Also on the strength of some early reviews I ordered the SHM-SACD of Ommadawn, also because it's done straight to DSD from the original UK master. For Tubular Bells the 180g Classic is my go to copy and I love the Quad SACD I have as well so couldn't afford to pick up that one, but may get it later.

To echo, if you can find it for around $20~$30 you may appreciate a small difference in SQ on the stereo layer, but the multi-channel mix is right up there with the worst I've ever heard.

I think the recent 2009 vinyl pressing from the UK is the best for this one.

I only paid $18 for my Oasis SACD so no hard feelings on that one, haha.

Hope you got it at a decent price, I see this one has gone through the roof recently. Great pick up though, I think it sounds amazing. The four guitar parts swirling around you during the beautiful final track "You Saved My Life" are worth the price of admission to this one alone.

Just ordered:
Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde (Hybrid SACD)
Norah Jones - Come Away With Me (Hybrid SACD)
Dianna Krall - When I Look in Your Eyes (Hybrid SACD)

Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms (Hybrid SACD)

Other than those, I just have some from when you could still find SACD's or DVD-A's in record stores (or still find record stores, for that matter.)

When I first started collecting, they were $13.99. I balked a little seeing cds were $7-$8, but I wanted better quality. Wish I kept up with it then, as the ones I want are too expensive for my taste.

I agree. This was one of the first MC discs I bought some years ago at a very reasonable price.

I know what you mean. I'm reminded of those gold coin commercials that say, "Avoid future regret and disappointment."

Pretty sure there is no difference other than the packaging.

Will check it out once I receive the E.U. jewel case version.

I have the Super Jewel case version of Brothers in Arms but I would not give money for the same disc in Digipack. I spend the amount on new music instead

Let us know what you think of the MJ, I just score that one as well and thought it sounded amazing, but that's just my opinion .

If possible can you post your library or even have it in your signature that would be great, and I'm sure other will get a kick out of it as well. No problem if you don't

Definitely plan on posting my rapidly expanding SACD library as soon as I am able to make it back home.
Hopefully this will be by the end of the month after I complete my current assignment.
Would like to post my other extensive Hi Res collections as well (DVD-A's, DTS, HDAD, Dualdiscs and Blu-ray Music.) but so far nobody has come forward with any info on a site(s) to post them on.
Could have sworn somebody here use to have a link in their signiture for their DVD-A library, but I can't find it anywhere. ( Maybe I was dreaming)
Might just have to find some software and do it manually if all else fails.
Have been collecting these for years and would really like to catalog and post them as well as my SACD's.
Way back during the format war I started collecting DVD-A's instead of SACD's, as I thought (at the time)they were so much nicer because they had menu's, photographs, lyrics, ect.)
If I had only known what I know now. (Kicks self in A**)
This allowed me to put together a rather nice DVD-A collection, but now I have to pay dearly for OOP SACD's.

Todays Catch:

David Bowie - Heathen SACD - MCH

Stevie Ray Vaughn - Couldnt Stand The Weather SACD - 2CH

Herbie Handcock - Head Hunters SACD - MCH
Have an extra copy if anybody's interested.

Chick Corea - Rendezvous in New York SACD - MCH

Various Artists - The Concert for New York SACD - MCH

Yes - Magnification DVD-A

Queensryche - Mindcrime at the Moore - Blu-ray

The Police - Certifiable - Blu-ray

Brock has is DVD-A library collection right on his signature, I believe a few others have done some sort of spread sheet with cover pictures and some info.
Yeah you seem to have some collection from your buys, that's what piqued my curiosity. Speaking of David Bowie's Heathen is pretty rare, I use to have it and got rid of it Yeah don't know what I was thinking

Nice buys btw..

An easy way to put your hi-res library on the internet for easy access is to open a Pinterest account, then make different pic albums for the various formats. It is then easy to find pics of the cover art and pin them in the relevant albums with captions.
It would look something like this: http://pinterest.com/warp2600/most-i...ng-lp-artwork/

Thanks for the suggestion and the preview.

I was thinking something along the lines of this in the Pro Edition:

Hi Jeff,

I use Orange CD for my CD, SACD, DVD-A collection. The program also creates very nice web pages to put up on a personal website.

But, I do use Collectorz for Movies. The program imports XML files from MyMovies.

I know it is not efficient to have three different programs (My Movies, Orange CD, and Collectorz for Movies). But, each does something the others won't do. I am sure it will all come together in one program at some point in the future.

Thanks! Marcus

Warp,

I realize the program costs money but considering how much time, money, and effort I have invested in this hobby over the years, (equipment and music purchases) it's worth it to me if it really does the job.

Marcus,

Thanks for the links and your suggestion.

The Orange CD program looks like it has real potential and might be a good alternative to Collectorz for Music.

I really like how the setup page is very similar to the MediaMonkey Pro I am already using to edit and catalog my music files on my HTPC and music server.

It would be great if there was one program that did it all, but that is usually pretty rare.

Dan,

Thanks for the compliment on my purchases.

Did manage to find Brock's page finally and think I will try to do something that also includes the artwork and more details.

Was unbelievably lucky in scoring David Bowie's "Heathen" for $39 (Like New) on eBay.

I really thought I wouldn't get it and it would sell for big bucks.

Once in awhile there are still some really good deals to be had.

Will let you know my impressions on the MJ "Thriller" once I get a chance to listen to it.
