Here Here is a review by Kal where he found the stereo track of the BR to be superior to the SACD. So I would definitely go with Kal's thoughts as he most certainly has a much more experienced and discerning ear than I will ever have

I may take the time to convert a song from each to Apple Lossless and listen on my Ultimate Ears "in ear monitors." They could be played consecutively very quickly. Problematic is that I can convert DTS-HD MA quite easily while converting DSD will involve a process that many audiophiles would point to as suspect.
Or I might just try what you did, Bill, and do my best to characterize the two recordings
On another related subject, tonight I hope to compare the original Tarkus CD to the remixed stereo Tarkus CD to the remixed stereo Tarkus DVD-A.
