Boy we’re caught up in semantics…certainly different opinions on lossy vs. lossless and even what constitutes “Hi-Res.” Some would subscribe to be true Hi-Res, it needs to be recorded with equipment capable of capturing at 24/92KHz + (AIX Doc). To me it’s all about the end result and not what “category” it’s filed in.
I agree the Depeche Mode stuff is good. Also, recommend anyone try Lyle Lovett - Joshua Judges Ruth
/DTS 5.1 out for size before it’s just discarded due to category…it beats the Depeche Mode stuff IMO and some of my 5.1 SACDs/DVD-As.
Just ordered a sack full of stuff that looks like (and I hope sounds like) “Hi-Res”…
NORAH JONES - ...LITTLE BROKEN HEARTS (APO HYBRID SACD)
HUGH MASEKELA - HOPE (APO HYBRID STEREO SACD)
RICKIE LEE JONES - IT'S LIKE THIS (HYBRID STEREO SACD)
NORAH JONES - COME AWAY WITH ME (APO HYBRID MCH SACD)
NORAH JONES - FEELS LIKE HOME (APO HYBRID SACD)
HOLLY COLE - TEMPTATION (HYBRID SACD)
FORIENER – HEAD GAMES (HYBRID MFSL SACD)
