Just a headsup and take it for what's it worth, you might want to do a titles search for quadrophenia on the hoffman forum regarding the 5.1 mixes.
I was thinking about pulling the trigger on this just for the 5.1 but after reading a couple threads I think I'd be more interested in the demo stuff.
It seems like I might have the same reaction to this as with the original Zep box set.
I know the albums so well that when you play a compilation disc, it's jarring when the anticipated next song doesn't play.
I love Townshend's demo material as it strips down the songs to the essentials which I prefer in many cases.
Unsure if you have Tommy on DVD-A but it is excellent. A real shame Quadrophenia didn't get the same treatment.
I know your propensity for 5.1 stuff but the SHM-SACD of Quadrophenia is the best I've heard.
What I haven't done and I should is apply DPLIIx in my theater room system to the SACD.
