All the ripping I've been doing has helped me perfect my workflow. A few weeks ago, before I began, I upgraded my main rig's drives. C:/ drive went from 2nd generation SSD to a new Corsair Neutron SSD, and I upgraded my two spinning platter VelociRaptors to the same SSDs as well. Converts and extractions now happen very quickly. And I am finding that CPU utilization hits 100% ... meaning my rig is processor-limited. Well that is disheartening as I have a 3.2GHz i7 quad core. I see now why "workstations" go multi-CPU!
Hey tell me about, I'm trying to stay out myself and save some cash as I'm t trying to build or rather have someone build a Htpc for me, I even have a thread going. I purchased 99% of the parts and have been trying to learn the software side of it. I just need to make up my mind on what would work best for me..I think JRiver would be use in the machine for hi rez mult ch and such. Yes indeedy Bill's library has been growing like wild weeds, and impressive to say the least.
I've read about the benefits of ssd drives, and purchased a samsung 250gb just for software and os alone. The machine will have a cpu, Intel core i5, so if i'm hearing you right your processor which much faster than what i have is all ready at maxed?
It sounds like some serious work flow for sure. You have a NAS system? That's what it sounds to me, I still need to learn the language as i'm still trying to understand Raid storage etc. All this stuff is harder than Chinese algebra to me lol!
I listened to the Tony and Kd the other day but I was making dinner, but I can send it to you if you like to get a listen.
