I know little about technology.
But I get all my local channels through my antenna hookup with my HR20, and the picture seems more stable than through my HD TiVo.
I can choose either the antenna or DirecTV version of ABC, CBS, the CW, Fox and NBC here in Los Angeles. I can get the SD versions of other channels through DirecTV, or their HD versions OTA. All through the HR20.
For the first several months the HR20 software had not been upgraded to pass through OTA signals. But for some months now it has, and it works great.
