Golf is in HD every almost every weekend. 4 freakin hours of it-watching the ball roll slowly on the grass.
Seriously though, now that you bring it up, D* goes years without the Tennis Channel and now suddenly they have it in SD and by December in HD. How many old matches will really benefit from that? Same could be said for golf. We'd better just shut up and be grateful for getting what we get.
Consider that, in tennis, the ball never goes anywhere. You don't have to have a lower - or even middle - body to watch it in person. At least gold courses are nice to look at in HD. Besides, you have to admire any sport where the amount of game play was determined by how much Scotch a foursome would consume at each hole.
Tennis, on the other hand, is arrogant and egotistical. The scoring was design specifically to confuse the commoners and keep them from playing. Any Joe can count the number of whacks he takes at a golf ball.
Finally, it's a lot easier to see a bright yellow tennis ball on a court than see a tiny white wall against a hazy sky. HD is a real benefit there.
Of course, I really dislike both sports. For me, it's bowling. It's no coincidence that the rectangular opening at the end of the lane where the pins are is 16x9. Those bowlers were obviously progressive thinkers...
