The firmware release today finally enabled bitstream out on the 1400. So I picked one up on the way home, updated it, and tried it with my 805. Success! I had DTS HD MA playing from my X3 disk FINALLY we have something capable of playing it. And for all of you who mocked HDMI 1.3 receivers... HAH!

That is some seriously awesome news! Congrats!

Edit: BTW - Where were you able to find a 1400 at for sale?

Does it internally decode and output as LPCM? How about analog?

Sounds awesome guys!! Master Audio is the Holy Grail of audio!! Can somebody please tell me what the bitrate of dts-HD MA is? Thank you

This is also sending DTS High resolution audio. Popped in a few Artisan titles to confirm. Onkyo receiver displays reads "DTS-HD HR" I'm guessing this is equivalent to DD+. The improvement is subtle. But hearing DTS HD MA on titles like Kingdom of Heaven, X3 and Transporter was a huge improvement.

I was going to ask about titles that have high bitrate DTS-HD , thanks noname

anyone tried a Dolby Digital Plus disc?

not sure on the bitrate, but it doesn't matter because it is lossless to the original master

Is this new capability available through the 5.1 analog outs or just HDMI?
Will I get the new audio formats using a Panasonic XR700 receiver?
Perhaps with analog if there comes a player that outputs.
If not the answer is no.
Reciver is already outdated, so if you have not bought it yet check out the reciver forum

Any reason why DTS MA can't be decoded in the player and outputted as LPCM?

Anyone??

Perhaps processing power? I honestly don't know. After spending a while listening to various HD MA tracks last night, I really am happy with this. I spent a year of whining about HD MA, but at least I can finally take advantage.

Ok Madpoet we want the movies and the scenes that stood out in DTS-MA? How would you compare to the PCM tracks or any DTHD tracks?

Thanks in advance!!

Yes, but is it known for sure that DTS MA can't be passed via LPCM??

If no one gets to it sooner, I'll try tonight. But as pointed out I'm not sure how we'll be able to determine it is or not, since the core will be regardless.
