Okay, I made the jump...had the Onkyo 605 purchased for much cheaper, but a local dealer stopped carrying the Denon line and had them on closeout. All that went through my mind (with the 605 in the trunk) was the lag issues with the Onkyo line (and heat). So, I took the plunge.
The better part was my wife seeing it. I have no clue where she got the idea that I was bringing home this tiny little thing (compared to my now replaced Yamaha V1000 - about the same size). She somehow thought that since we replaced the projection LCD with a flat panel that I should be able to do the same with the receiver. She's not happy that I am sticking it on top of the entertainment until instead of squeezing it into the cabinet (literally, 1" clearance on all sides). It may be possible since it really will not be *that* loud, but the Onkyo would've started an inferno.
Love my wife, but that's why I keep her away when I pick out these things.
Cannot wait to hook it up...need to run out and get some black speaker cabling...since running white across my dark wood entertainment center is not appealing to her.
Sorry for the rant...cannot wait to hook it up to the PS3 and get some movie "goodness" out of it.
