So many hackers are coming to TF2. Hey i will just make 20 accounts with random emails just to make people rage... rampid cheaters coming.

Of course I just bought this less than 2 weeks ago and maybe have been able to put an hour or two into it. I guess the good news is there should be some more noobs to help me not stick out so bad.

In Valve's FAQ about their free-to-play model, they specifically said they will monitor and quickly deal with people who try to cheat the loot system with free accounts.

Also, there are a few restrictions for free accounts in that they are unable to trade away stuff they get, they can't get cosmetic items, and they are limited to having a lot less slots to store items.

One purchase of anything from the store makes the account fully functional, so if someone wanted to have 20 idle accounts getting free items, they'd have to pay Valve something on the store to activate premium status on each one.

Valve also hashes every system with a unique identifier. If one thinks that they can't easily track multiple griefing accounts getting banned on a single system, one would be mistaken. Whether they take that step in regards to TF2 Free account spamming is a question, but it is entirely possible.
