Will Day After Tomorrow be Released on October 2nd?

Given recent delays by Fox... What are the chances that they actually release Day After Tomorrow October 2nd? Will it contain the planned BD+?
How about another option on the poll:

"This is yet another useless flame-bait thread that once again degrades AVS"
How is it Flamebait given FOX actions the last 8 months? As a BLU-RAY owner I'm about completely and totally FED up with FOX. They are simply a check box for BDA and not an actual BLU-RAY producing Studio.

I think the real question is, if it is released on time would anyone care?

I'm not sure anyone is clamoring for a movie with a 46% rating on Rotten Tomatoes...
Hey, I liked the movie..

In all honesty, I'm pulling for it to be released on time due to the simple fact that the sooner it comes out, the sooner BD+ gets hacked.
Who cares? ...honestly. If it is one of the only titles that Fox DOESN'T cancel, then whoop'de'doo.

I guess this poll is here because we are less than two weeks away and it HASN'T been cancelled yet is an achievement?

Even if it isn't cancelled, it's not exactly a big number on my list, so it's a bit of a non-event for me, sadly.

That was one HORRIBLE HORRIBLE movie...

Doubtful they are in a hurry to 'release' BD+ (if at all), since like you said, it would soon be hacked. It's in BDA's best interests to continue using BD+ as a carrot for Fox and Disney, rather than actually releasing it and having it hacked and thereby destroying the carrot. With no BD+ hanging over their heads, what's to keep Fox/Disney staying Blu-ray? Some other carrot will be dangled, I suppose.

I thought it was a great comedy, yet very realistic.

Like when the Wolves came off the ship to eat the children!?!

That could really happen!

I'm just impressed that it has been this long and no one had said, "FUD".

WHAT must be going on in somebodys mind to create a thread like that??? PLEASE anybody explainme? FOX delayed 1 title MGM 1 title with legitimate reasons! So WHAT in hell is this thread good for? Flaim-Bait?

Some HD DVD fanboys really need to find back into reality.

Its not the delay of one title that makes this thread interesting... its the lack of ANY titles since April, and the public reaction to this absence of releases.

Do we all "whistle while we work" like nothing odd is going on, or have we actually noticed that something is up with Fox?

I started this thread after reading the M&C announcement on (that other board) People were all like... "I'm glad they cancelled it... Quality First... Good for Fox... They Care about us!"

It was like something out of the Stepford Wives. 99.9% of the people were cool with Fox and thought they were doing the right thing. Not at all suspicious, that something might be wrong.

Seriously, shouldn't we all be concerned that there is some reason for these delays/cancellations that is not being put in press releases?

I think a better question would be: What happens with FOX releases when BD+ is hacked?
They
- drop BD+
- drop Blu-ray
- drop releasing in hidef
- drop dead

And how many execs will be fired/retire/quit.

Diogen.

That's because there are many people who buy movies simply because they're HD, not because they're good movies. I'll never understand that.

But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Agreed, it always surprises me what people will sit through.

I'll try to place my vote a minute before the poll closes.

Fox is definitely going to at least release a few movies this year.

What movies? I don't know, but Sony is probably pounding them and Fox will probably toss them a few bones.
I voted. I suspect it will not show up. Hope I'm wrong. I have it on DTheater ... so I might not get it right away. But if it sees the street, it would be a good sign of things to come. But I doubt it will.

I'm one frustrated BD owner. And Fox is the reason why. I bought my Panny in January (I think that's when it was) when the studio was all blustered up with excitement about their unprecedented release schedule for '07. And so I payed $900 for the player ... a good price at that time.

Since then ... well, I dust it off now and then. Fire it up just to look at the Blu-ray logo on the splash screen. Watch "Eight Below" AGAIN!

It's sad really. They screwed a lot of folks. I lost the $300 difference on the price then and now. Bought it too soon. Thanks FOX.

If anything, this poll shows the amount of confidence people have in Fox.

Not everyone that voted "No" is a fanboy. I am neutral but I know FOX. They are so scared right now that they will wait till BD+ is un-hackable. And we all know how long that will be.
I liked this movie, but the Poll doesn't have an option I agree with. I'd like to vote that it won't show up, but the rest of the option is flame bait ********, so I'll just not vote. Thanks!

BD+ will remain "un-hackable" only as long as it is never used.
This is a very good move for Fox because it is win-win. If BD+ isn't hacked they can ramp up movie releases on BD. And if BD+ is hacked and TDAT gets distributed over the Internet well it is no big loss...I mean, It is only The movie TDAT!!!!

Agreed, but sadly I have to watch it every time it is on. Kind of like Volcano. So I pre-ordered it.

Quoted to follow up later.

This release was pretty good on D-Theater (at least for effects, audio, and video, not for plot. Only the first 30 minutes are worth watching). Does Fox plan to offer a lossless track on this title?

I have no idea if The Day After Tomorrow will be on shelves Oct 2nd and have no interest in guessing, but I found something kind of interesting/funny about it...

If you look the movie up on amazon, they have the Independence Day cover...

http://www.amazon.com/Day-After-Tomo...0355426&sr=8-1

As far as I know, Independence Day hasn't been announced for BD. Am I correct in this thought?
