Sharp LC-52D64U vs LC-52D92U vs LC-52D82U

My questions are:

If I or you had to make a choice between these 3 sets, which one would you go for???

I have heard that 82u and 92u sets have banding issues while 64u doesn't??? (am I right?)

82u and 64u are similar in features except that 82u looks better up front while 64u is really slim + has a HDMI 1.3 support (does 82u and 92u support HDMI 1.3?)

If I can get the 82u and 64u at the same price while if I can get 92u for about $200 more - which one should I buy???

I did read all the threads but still can't come to the conclusion and I really really want to buy 1 of these.

Please help me out here. really appreciate your comments/suggestions.

1). 64 has banding problem (confirmed)
2). 82U and 92U support HDMI 1.2a
3). I'll go for 92U for $200 more

I heard that 82U may be process SDTV signal better (rumor?) . Can anyone confirm it?

Thanks for the info. How big of a difference between HDMI 1.2a and HDMI 1.3?

I have heard is that 92u has one of the better sd pic quality than most of the models.

So does 82 and 92. Looks like for the same percentage of the sets, or less.

If you got 64 for $1800, it ain't half as bad.

PQ difference is due to 120Hz that is absent in 64 and 5wave backlight in 92.

PQ difference is due to 120Hz that is absent in 64 and 5wave backlight in 92.

Note: It's not actually a 120Hz refresh rate, its "120Hz frame rate conversion" mode--and reviewers say it doesn't create any difference.

I was balancing back and forth between the 52XBR4 and this 52D92U and I just couldn't get past the banding which is painfully evident after you notice it for the first time. The blacks are amazing though, and it has an incredibly 'sharp' picture. My buddy got the D82U and it kind of lagged when playing XBOX 360...the 4ms is almost misleading-in my opinion. If it weren't for the banding I'd save the money and snatch this thing up...but unfortunatly it's PQ problem just ruins it, it's a shame. "Newer models" supposedly clean up the banding issue a little bit, but I haven't seen them...good luck on your search for your T.V> though.

I've planning on getting either the LC-46D82U or LC-46D92U very soon. Is the banding issue fixed on the current sets? Does banding appear more on the 92U than the 82U? I have not seen the banding problem on either in show rooms. What situations does it does it show up on? Any particular DVD that makes this show problem show up?

Between the 82U and 92U, is the picture quality worth the extra $200 - $300? I don't think I need the RS-232C interface, DVI input or detachable speakers on the 92U, so its just the PQ from the 5-wavelength backlight and 15000:1 dynamic contrast that I'm judging the value on. I haven't been able to locate a showroom with the 82U and 92U side by side.
