In general, even good speaker cables (eg BLC/Belden 12ga) cost much less than the same length of average quality interconnect.
I will compromise cost, but not SQ. That's the point of this thread. I'm ready to run HDMI from pre-pro to TV, freeing up 3 component video cables for amp interconnects. I made these from quad-shield RG6, soldering rca's on the ends. They're great for video, and I would think for audio also. If something can be gained by this switch, I'm all for the extra cost. On the other hand...
