Chuck on NBCHD

Thought I would make this thread since the premiere is tonight and this show will likely get alot of viewers.
I'll be watching, it should be a great companion piece for Heroes.
I liked the pilot. NBC made four of their new show pilots available OnDemand on Comcast including HD versions. I watched all four though "Life" didn't grab me enough to finish.

The HD recorder is on overtime tonite..

LOL definitely ....I'm recording three shows at 8pm (two half hour), two shows at 9pm, and two more at 10pm. Plus, i'm recording the repeat of "The War" whenever that's on (11pm I think). I spent the weekend watching everything on my DVR so that I would have HD space for tonight.

I don't want to spoil it for those on the west coast but I won't be watching Chuck next week.
Even tho I was looking forward to this show LEAST, I must say I'm hooked. Good pilot, I'm back for at least another week.

Although the sound got a bit weird (muffled) for me after that last commercial break... anyone else?
I saw the pilot in HD On Demand last week and loved it...

We were going to record it and watch it again tonight... _BUT IT'S NOT IN HD!_

It's in ****** SD letterbox mode... with only two channel sound coming through (even though it's dolby digital... only sound of the two front speakers). Is anyone else seeing this?

I bet it's just my ****** local channel. I live in Albuquerque, NM... so it's still on right now. God I hope they figure it out before Heroes comes on....

Update... I flipped over to Antenna and it's like that there too... sigh.

I was hoping it was just Comcast being retarded.

I think this one has potential. I liked the pilot a lot. I thought the dialogue was sharp, I thought it was funny at times, and it had a nice pace. Throw in a decent amount of eye candy, and it's a recipe I really liked. I am looking forward to this one.

TallGuyMe: OTA WRC-DT DC -- if there were any problems, I was too engrossed in the story to notice.

Yeah.... Comcast doesn't change the feed. NBC does this all the time here. The show will start in HD, go to commercial break, and then wait about ten minutes to switch back to HD. Then it repeats. Gotta love it.

Wow, the gal in the show is smokin' good looking. Good show..
I wasn't expecting Chuck to be good. It's was pretty entertaining.
I enjoyed the show. Not ready to add a Season Pass, but will be back next week.
This show needs more Hero of Canton...
I'll tune in next week. I thought it was going to be just a Jake 2.0 knock-off, but it has a nice blend of humor.
I thought the "fruit of the loom" ad inserts looked marvelous!!!!!
Well, most of you guys liked it a lot more than I did (although the initial Bryce sequence was fun to watch), and I'll probably give it another shot next week, but I'm fairly convinced that the premise is going to wear thin pretty soon and become redundant. IMO, the best thing it has working for it is being the lead-in to Heroes. YMMV

I liked it more than I thought I would, but I'm not sure yet if I'll stick with it.

I love stuff like this, lot's of fun. It won't last half a season, unfortunately. Cause few others love it.

It's going to be hard to want to create drinking songs about Major Casey unless he gets that stick out of his butt.

The man they call Jayne! Of course, Full Metal Jacket fans will demand more Animal Mother. Can the two demands be reconciled?!

I thought the pilot somewhat underdelivered, especially the first half hour. Once it got its feet there were genuinely good moments. No super great moments to take away just yet. I'm not ready to start comparing things to great Chuck moments.

I think Adam Baldwin's dry delivery rescued a lot of lines that were just mediocre. I think this character might just be Jayne Cobb only cleaned up and slightly toned down.

The tiny car vs SUV chase was superb. Slightly over-the-top finish, but that is the tone of the show. Drive might still be on the air if they had done anything close.

The shooting style was slightly annoying. I hate shows that do wobble cam (go back and check: Chuck is shot slightly wobbly, especially in the early shots in his sister's house) while using great lighting. Make an artistic choice!! If you want to shoot clean, then stabilize the camera. If you want to shoot rough, then sell all the lights and lens filters, buy crappy film and give the camera to a hyper child. I like both styles, but not when mixed.

It seems like this is a show that can grow as it figures itself out.

I'll have to see what I missed from CBS before I declare Chuck a keeper.

I thought it was a lot of fun, laughed out load a couple of times, that's saying something with most of todays shows.

My hunch is the Bryce will be back, 1- because Matt Bomer is listed in the opening credits, 2- his girlfriend is flipping through her cam phone picts of him, and 3- wasting Matthew Bomer on a throw away opening shot would be a waste. I really liked him in Traveler, like to see wat he adds to this show.

I'd give it a 3.5 to 4 on a 5 point scale.

I thought the lead, although likeable, lacked a light comedic touch or charisma ( the female lead is also similarly charisma challenged), and since this was directed by McG (Charlie's Angels), I expected a fun show with some decent visuals, but this pilot just laid there, I doubt if I'll be watching future episodes.

Being an actual geek, I found it hard to ignore the obvious plot holes, such as downloading the entire knowledge of the United States into a handheld, and then emailing it to someone in mere seconds.

Or why Sarah didn't just take the hard drive instead of the whole PC - Sydney Bristow would never have been caught dead doing that.

But as long as they keep parading her around in her underwear, I'll keep watching.
Am I the only one who was VERY annoyed at the constant advertising for coming NBC shows during the program itself? And the networks wonder why their viewership keeps dropping.

But I guess we get what we deserve.

To be fair, it's only the knowledge of the CIA + NSA. Probably not that much, really.

And no back-ups?

It is 2007 - how much more does it cost to air it in HD 16x9? I don't get it, this is a show they want to succeed, right?
