Smack your DVR ... it messed up (unless your friendly affiliate pre-empted the show.)

I continue to like the way they handle the Casey + Morgan interaction.

On another show Casey would just be an ass... On Chuck, Casey is tough but fair. You can win him over, and when you do then you're in all the way... though he will still be tough on you sometimes just for fun.

I am unclear about something though... I do not know exactly what Casey's daughter knows about anything. He had to tell her something to explain why her mother thought he was dead and why he now goes by a different name... but it all happened off-screen, so I'm not sure what she knows.

Given some of the way they've handled things, tonight being an example, it seems like she doesn't know what he does for a living... otherwise some things would be easier to explain than they are playing it each week that she appears on the show.

Might be fodder for the "back nine."
Can't wait!!

LMAO! They've single handedly saved the show.

I understand that Casey's character is meant to be "tough but fair" but sometimes, just once in a while, I really think he takes it too far. I mean, Morgan just saved all three of their lives, through an act of incredible bravery. Sarah's is the first voice we hear (from Morgan's point of view, which was nicely done), asking if he's okay; Chuck is encouraging him ("Come on, buddy!"); Casey says "Wake up, moron!" Really?

Okay, Morgan can be an idiot sometimes, and Morgan's selfless act was necessitated by that idiocy, but it still struck me as ungracious. Don't forget that that was the second time in 24 hours that Morgan had saved Casey's life. No wonder Casey has no friends.

On any other show, Casey would be an ass. He's an ass on this show, too. I like him, I admire him, and he's a vital part of Team Bartowski. But he really is an ass.

Forgot to say... Loved the bad cheezy 80's background music too.

That's pretty much what I was getting at... On most shows all we would get is a character like Casey being an ass...

But on Chuck, and largely due to how Adam Baldwin is good at being an ass with redeeming qualities... even when Casey is being an ass, you get a glimmer of humanity in him.

I think it took the better part of all 3 seasons before Casey stopped automatically attributing idiocy=Chuck... and now he pretty much relates to Chuck as a respected peer.

Chuck had to do a lot, actually, in terms of saving the free world several times over in order to get Casey fully on his side... I expect Morgan is heading down that path slowly but surely.

Casey has lots of military training and guile... Sarah has lots of CIA training + her life growing up on the run... and Chuck was always smart, just a bit derailed + he has the Intersect.

Morgan is essentially you and me... he is the regular Joe who knows super-cool people. He isn't really an idiot, but in their world he can appear to be one. He has no special skills or training... but he's still every bit as willing to throw himself on the grenade to save friends, family, and country.

That's what inevitably wins Casey over at the end of the day because he is capable of recognizing that strength of character and heroism. You could almost argue that Morgan is the most heroic character on the show because he ends up accomplishing more proportionally with his limited skills than the trained heroes do.

But enough of the Morgan fan parade

I like the Morgan fan parade.

Joshua Gomez doesn't get nearly enough love from us. I've always thought he's an essential part of Chuck, and a gifted comedic actor. His body language, and especially the rise and fall of his voice, have provided me with some of the funniest moments in the show.

Oingo Boingo - cheezy?

Ah man.

Yeah, "Dead Man's Party" at Casey's funeral was perfect. Unfortunately, during that segment, the music was so loud that we had trouble hearing the dialogue. We had to back up a few times to catch things, and at one point just gave up on understanding what they were saying.

Matt-you probably got the WDIV Mort Crim and Carmen Harlan crap.
Chuck was moved to 1:35AM this morning. Luckily I caught it and capped it on my mac. PM me if you want the transport stream on a usb thumbdrive. I'll send it to you. (No commercials either)
The bad news is the first 7 minutes is letterboxed SD.
Otherwise looks fine and exporting sans commercials as I type...
Thanks, but it showed up on my DVR at 1:35AM. I was wondering about the first part but before I knew it it was full screen HD as it should be. Good episode, glad I got to see it.

This was the best episode in the last 2 seasons. Coincidentally, there was no drama between chuck and sarah. It was funny, the loser saved the day, had some mild but good emotional stuff. Great great episode.

I'm not sure I agree with the "best episode of the last two seasons" assessment, but I appreciated that Chuck didn't spend the whole episode whining about his relationship insecurities. The prior episode had me thinking it might be time to give up on Team Bartowski.

Agreed. Chuck's insecurities over Sarah's gargantuan emotional baggage that would break the back of Atlas himself has grown tiresome. Time to let the other cast members shine. Casey + Morgan is far more hilarious than it ever was with Chuck.

Where do I go to bet Chuck has a bullet proof vest on next week? I could make a fortune.

Hmm... my bet would be no vest, but exploding blood packs in his shirt + blanks in the gun shooting at him.

Did anyone notice that Casey's neighbor is named "Bauer"? Like Jack Bauer, maybe?

I didn't recognize any of the other names on the mailboxes.

I did, and thought the same!

No bullet proof vest. No blood packs and blanks.

Surely it must be obvious by now that the only way the Intersect would fit in Chuck's heads is if he is a freaking terminator sent back from the future to replace the real Chuck! Why else would Sarah Connor be here, now? I predict somewhere during the November sweeps someone will use the lines 'I'll be back" and "Come with me if you want to live".

.... awesome if it happens!
I thought they already did a version of "Come with me..." last season at the end where Chuck was escaping from the CIA and his father pulls up in the car and beckons him from the window.

I see it's a Halloween episode. Did you see that stack of HD DVD player boxes by the haunted aisle?

I haven't been keeping up with the thread, lately, BUT I'm really looking like a great season, so far. I'm a little down they ordered only 13 episodes... Hope they put in the order for more ASAP.

I really like the Linda Hamiliton thread so far, too. Gonna be interesting to see how Chuck will prove she IS who she says she is -- OR if that proves to be true. Ellie SURE COULD use a REAL mom right now, lol.

NBC recently ordered an additional 11 episodes for this season for a season 4 total of 24!

REALLY COOL! I had NO IDEA! That makes for a FULL SEASON even on the OLDEST of full-season schedule runs!
