I am well aware of the dates, but this close to holiday season they will have them in stores by black friday. And yes a new panasonic, DMPBD-30. This is really a second gen players since their second model was really a first gen with software updates.. Nice prices too for all players. There are now like 4-5 models priced at $500.

Surprised this hasn't made any more traction in the news group. Is there really no additional information on this player?

It will get more traction, if we get a link to official press release, not just a copy of post and link to same post on blu-ray.com

Can't seem to find any specs, but considering the goodies that their 1st gen product packed, I would expect no less than DTS-HD MA and profile 1.1 from this player.

Based upon the reference above, this player doesn't exist. When more substantial information appears (assuming this is a real player), then it will exist.

I'll believe it when a credible source is cited - not a BD.com fanatic.

If true, it is very exciting!

It could also be a HD-DVD delusional fanatic as well... LOL
No current info anywhere on the net, so this is basically speculation!

It has to be real!

I work at BBY/MHT and we have recently received model numbers in our computer system for the New Sharp, Panasonic and Samsung BDP2400 available next month as well as the Samsung combo player. Sharp and Panasonic are priced 499

http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread....478#post237478

Why is this player in the computer system and the DMP-BD10 is now one year old? Expects a new Panasonic player in the next months....
This is great news. I have been looking to add another BD player for my TV upstairs. I'm so impressed with the BD10, I will put this one at the top of my shopping list.
Great news if it's true, especially since the BD10/BD10a is such a stable, glitch free player. Would be great to get DTS-HD MA and even faster load times.
I thought, when asked if the 10A would do 1080p/24 just before its release, that a Panasonic spokesperson said no, but that their next model would have 1080p/24, which wouldn't be released this year. Does anyone else remember that?
Seems like this quote has made it to several German websites as well.

The price sounds about right though - you're not going to see Panasonic, Pioneer, Sharp, Sony, Samsung, etc., all rushing $199 players to market for this Christmas.
I was about to take the plung and buy the 10A. Sounds like I should wait a couple of months for this one.
Can't wait to see the specs on this one. I think it's down to either the Sammy 1400 or the Panny.

It is a real model coming soon from Panasonic. Go to the new form for the 5 free movies that starts on 10/1/07 and you will see that it includes the new Panasonic model as one of the models that qualifies for the promo

Nice find. I would like to see the specs on this one also. I have enjoyed my BD-10 for nearly a year now and Panasonics attention to this player has been outstanding.

OT- interesting that there are three PS3 model numbers. More evidence of the 40gig.

The BD30 is indeed in BB/MHT's system. The date listed is 10/17/07. No specs for the player. profile 1.0? Interesting since I heard no news from Panasonic at CEDIA regarding a new player coming out. Nothing on the global website and nothing on interest searches

If that date is true, it looks like they're trying to beat the 10/31/07 deadline. So, I would imagine it's profile 1.0.

How can we not have a small leak of specs on this unit???

This is amazing.

No BB uses holders in there system when they get info on it. These dates are almost never right. When talking with people and looking at coming stuff I have seen them off by as much as 2 months. And have never seen anything early.

This is amazing.

Even further proof that anyone claiming to have inside evidence about Panasonic's disc replication facililties is talking crap.

Circuit City has it ( PAN DMPBD30K) listed on their web site:

for $599. Looks like it will be available around 18 Oct 07

From the link in previous post, doesn't appear to have DTS-HD MA decoding.
Looks to be a BD10A with hdmi 1.3. I do think however it will send DTS-HD MA via bitstream.

When you click on the 'Click here for printable coupon' the 30K is listed.

I used to be on the main page as well. But Panasonic has tried to wipe every early mention of this player.
