Legendary disappointment

First I want to say that while the helmet and stand are plastic, i think they look fantastic. There is not a blemish or painting error to be found and the visor is super reflective. To the not so good. Those of us who purchased it paid a whopping $130 and should have at least got the metal case that was standard with the $70 collector's edition. 2 plastic cases? WTF?! I assumed that it came with the metal case because that was what was shown with all of the press kits. Apparently those in the media received a better package...and for free.

Your actually complaining about the quality of the toy helmet you got with your copy of Halo?

He's complaining that for $130 bucks he got a plastic helmet but did not get the cool metal case that the medium-tier purchasers got.

I'd feel ripped too.....basically he paid $70 for that helmet then.....well, $70 for all the goodies that dont come with the standard version.

I feel ya on this. I too bought the legendary edition thinking it came with the limited edition's cool tin case but I was disappointed when I unwrapped it early this morning. The positive, though, is that we didn't have to deal with all of the disc scratching issues that accompanied the limited edition's poor plastic disc holders. I also found it cool that I could fit my limited edition Halo 2 in the helmet case as well.

As an aside, I did watch the IGN feature of unwrapping the legendary edition and it explicitly showed the editor pulling out the limited edition's black case out of the helmet case. Oh well, I love the game and the girlfriend hates the helmet, all in all, I'd say it's a good day.

I stopped by limited edition things because of this very situation. I can't remember the last time I watched the extra pack-in dvd that came with my Halo2 LE copy.

For the avid collector, the legendary edition is a must have, but when you really think about it, you're buying Halo to actually play the game.

To each their own I suppose...

I'm pretty happy with the good old standard edition.

Sams club has it for under 115.00

So you paid 2x as much for a crappy toy?
You're lucky it wasn't the metal case. There's a design flaw, lots of scratched discs.
