A tip of the hat to TVSquad for finding this gem.

I love where they went with dad.

Thanks for passing that along. The Reaper characters were some of my favorites. Good to know where the producers wanted to take the story. It makes sense, and it would have been a fun ride.

Yes, thanks for pointing out this interview with the creators of Reaper. I saw every episode. It was a lot of fun. It definitely left me wondering what would have happened with Sam. Now I can wonder no more.

FEARnet Licenses ABC Studios' 'Reaper' in First Off-Net Deal

Network producing reunion special with cast and crewew

By Lindsay Rubino -- Broadcasting & Cable, 4/9/2013 9:15:19 AM

FEARnet has picked up its first off-network series with ABC Studios' comedy Reaper, licensing both seasons of the hour-long series to add to its Tuesday night Twisted Comedy Block.

Reaper, which first aired on The CW from 2007-09, will debut on June 4 leading into the second season premiere of FEARnet's original comedy Holliston.

FEARnet will also produce a half-hour reunion special with some of the cast, including stars Bret Harrison, Tyler Labine and Ray Wise, returning to discuss the series.

"Reaper is the first off-network series that we have licensed for FEARnet. We are constantly looking for TV and cable properties that are still relevant, and that will resonate with our large base of fans, and Reaper fits that criteria perfectly," said Sarah Shannon, VP, programming and network operations, FEARnet. "Many Reaper viewers feel the show left too early, so we hope that they will enjoy our plans for the series and our Reaper reunion special."

I don't see how it could be a continuation....
Getting all of the old personal back isn't likely or even practical.

Mine also. See Spartacus, they could recast a few of the actors. Some I have not seen all the much, others were in new shows.

We can only dream.

The wife and I were really pi$$ed when Reaper was canceled.
It was one of the funniest shows I can recall.

Who can ever forget Ray Wise as the Devil?
He was absolutely perfect....no one could have done it better.smile.gif

They are airing re-runs of the first two (and only two) seasons of the show. They are going to produce and air a special reuniting some of the cast members and having them talk about the show.

I too really enjoyed Reaper and was dissapointed when it got cancelled.

Also, thanks for bumping this thread. I never saw that post with the link to the creator's interview telling how the show would have ended. That was pretty cool and I really wish we would have been able to see it all on the show.

It's on Netflix Streaming if you want to watch it.

Here is relevant info from the interview:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
“We had a lot of ideas in both short and long term. I remember that, at the end of the second season, we had hoped to put Andi to work at the DMV with Gladys. We love Gladys. Christine Willes is just so much fun, and we thought she and Andi had such a great way of sparring with each other that that could have been great.”

As for Sam and the question of who his father really was, this one’s a doozy: “If you remember, Dad wasn’t dead. And there was a whole reason why he wasn’t dead. Basically, the whole premise that never actually had the chance to come out was the idea that Dad was a demon, who made a deal with the Devil. He fell in love with Sam’s mom and wanted to marry her. So the deal was, fine, you’re not a demon anymore. He was never fully human, either, which is why you can’t kill him. So, in the pilot, when he said he was really sick and made a deal with the Devil, he wasn’t 100% lying nor 100% telling the truth. And this is the reason why Sam is special: Sam is part human, part demon.”

“Sam was led to believe he was the Devil’s son, but that wasn’t true. That’s not the reason Sam had powers — the powers came from his father. His father was really his father. And part of his deal was that he was never really allowed to tell Sam the truth, and that’s the reason why he says to him ‘there’s more to this than I can tell you.’ And part of what we tried to get out of all of this was that Sam really is special. That’s the reason why, at the end of the last season, Steve comes to him and says Sam is caught between good and evil. What we hoped to get out of the third season was what part did Sam have to play? Sam’s whole existence, and the reason the Devil was paying so much attention to him and hanging out with him so much was because there was a reason: Sam was half-human and half-demon, and the Devil was really worried that this kid was going to be his downfall. If you look at what the Devil is doing throughout the series, he’s trying to tempt Sam to be bad. And he’s trying to tempt him to embrace this, that what you’re doing isn’t so bad. The whole point was that if he can turn Sam bad, the Sam isn’t a threat anymore.”

If anyone has not seen Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk in Tucker and Dale VS Evil yet, go watch it. It's in the usual streaming places and Tudyk and Labine are hilarious, excellent new characters.

It's a pity Labine has a bad track record of shows since Reaper. I'd like to see him on TV again in something good.

Boy I really enjoyed reaper... I'll be looking forward to the reunion special.

Haven't had a chance to see Tucker & Dale yet, but I plan to. I do tend to enjoy Labine in most of his stuff including Sons of Tuscon which I also felt was cancelled way too early.
