JLBM and RNFS are "coupon codes" that you can use at Warner's on-line site (but only through September 30th). The low prices are the best. Good service is temporarily lacking (because of a system redesign they are undergoing) but should be remedied shortly. Remember, you won't see the reduced prices until you click on "add to cart" and/or "pre order" and add one of the code there. On the screen where you add the code, up at the top there is an "important message" button which, when you click it, tells you that there was a systems upgrade at the site from Aug 8th - Sep 4th and orders placed during that period weren't going to be shipped until after Sep 5th. So they are probably still playing catch up from that. So be patient with them. A little wait is worth the 44% - 48% discount from MSRP. That big of a discount is something I had never heard of for pre-orders such as Blade Runner, Deliverance, Full Metal Jacket (Deluxe Edition). And once they're caught up (which hopefully will be soon), their deliveries are timely. Actually, frequently if you do the pre-orders 10 or more days before the "release date", folks frequently get the pre-orders actually before the official release date. Hopefully they'll soon be returning to this "normality".

I've posted a direct link to the list of available items.

And by the way, the site has been fixing some of its problems. For example, you can now order 2001 and Wyatt Earp in Blu-ray.

I use Amazon. If you are a member of Prime, you get fast free shipping-my discs usually arrive on the day of release. Their prices are consistently very good, and some of us get an extra 10% off.

You also might want to price check your items on DeepDiscount. They have free shipping and will sometimes have prices better than Amazon. For example, right now Halloween, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead in Blu-ray are selling for $18.10 each now. Not too shabby.

One thing I found out about WB is that they charge your card now for pre-orders on future releases. Ordered HP Gift Set and the charge immediately appeared on my card. Amazon and most of the other venders will not charge your card until shipped. Just makes it more difficult to cancel if you change your mind. Will probably skip WB as my source for pre-orders in the future.

Deep Discount does have good sales periodically, but they are pathologically slow when it comes to shipping. Even if you pay for "expedited" shipping, it still takes a week or more. Not recommended if you want the movie soon.

This is not strictly true. I believe they do a "transitory" charge (probably to make sure you have credit available) to your credit card and then that charge is quickly removed. They don't do an actual charge for any item until that item is shipped.

The following is extracted from the Warner site:

Quote:

...please keep in mind that items are billed when shipped and funds must be available in your account at that time.

The charge for your order will appear on your credit card bill as "Warner Home Video".

And, by the way, their shipping is free for orders over $50.

This is a dumb question, but I just wanted to know when you pre-order from amazon, do you pay for the whole Blu-Ray right away, or just a portion of it?

Say I pre-ordered BS Dracula, but I read some bad reviews ... how long until they credit my account if I cancel the pre-order?

Thanks!

Amazon and Warners both do not charge your credit card until your pre-order item ships. So if you pre-order something but cancel it before it ships, you're never charged. I have done cancellations of pre-orders frequently when a better deal comes along. I cancelled a good number of Amazon pre-orders for thr 4th quarter of this year and replaced them with pre-orders from the WarnerBros site because of the great prices in the deal spelled out upthread.

the one time i preordered with warner they DID charge my card right away so I never order again after that.

Once I went dvdpacific I never went back. Prices are within a buck or 2 of amazon and they always ship my preorders a week or earlier than amazon.
when you read about people getting discs before the release date, most of them ordered from dvdpacfiic.

Sorry Dude, if that did happen to you (and I doubt it) it must have been a fluke. You can go into their web site and see what their policy is (i.e., not to charge until an item is shipped). I just went online to my credit card account and see nary a single charge for the pre-orders I have for releases from October through December.

So, if anyone wants to save 44% - 48% on their preorders for Warners videos (or already released videos), I suggest they see post # 2 above and get their orders in before the offer expires after September 30.

why the hell would I make it up? Pretty silly thing to lie about - sheesh. I was surprised, as most on here said they didn't do that. I canceled my order immediately and came here and posted about it afterwards. I wouldn't have cared except for the fact I didn't have enough money in that account to cover the charges - so it really irked me.

I buy from Amazon almost exclusively.
